How can a club do that ?

It’s not a transfer between the clubs to be able to add sell on clauses

do clubs not already put sell on clauses in the sale agreements? I think they do mate

This will technically be a transfer, as Real want him in their squad in time for the World Club tournament.

Not sure we’ll get any clauses, but a million or two will be coming our way.

I think we tell them to Foxtrot Oscar, a couple of million is not going to make a difference. We shouldn’t help them as it’s clear they tapped him up a while ago.

They probably will continue this route of tapping up players end of contract, probably just rumours yet but apparently they've got eyes on konate now. I know the top spanish clubs have this infectious lure but I feking hate it when we lose our lads to those clubs.

They get their players to do their dirty work. Bellingham clearly tapped up Trent and probably Tchouaméni tapping up Konate. It seems to happen on international duty.

He's not the greatest defender, technically Bradley's the better player however Trent's vision, unpredictability and willingness to attack (hence all the assists) created value rarely seen in a defender. He'll be greatly missed however our team is constantly evolving and with Robbo also losing a yard of pace, Slot will have to redefine the role of the next pair of FB's. Maybe that role is no redundant as we no longer have a Fabinho there to sweep up when the FB's got caught out of position. The key thing is to recruit players who can dominate, whatever their position.

I remember the 2019 CL final in Madrid, there wasn't a single player I would have replaced in that team. We just have to get back to that point.  :buttrock

Bradley is not a better player by any stretch

I have to agree.. Bradley is our Jordan Ibe and Trent is Raheem Sterling.

I wouldn’t go that far

They are just different players - Bradley is quicker and also stronger in defence but doesn’t have Trent’s ability on the ball

technically it's not a 'sale' but it is a transfer is it not? He's going from us to them so that's a transfer surely? they'll be paper work involved? Or are suggesting Trent will be out of work? they'll be a cross over period and we should be covering ourselves from a future big money sale, you'd think

He is out of contract from the 30th June

He will then sign a new contract with someone else

There is no paperwork between the clubs

The club will remove his registration from us

Madrid then register him

No cross over period

There is no transfer between clubs , there is no way we can put any clause into a players contract with another club

I view him in the exact same light as Owen. A traitor who left the club for a pittance. And like Owen he was home grown which makes it even more disgusting.
There are no excuses for acting like a greedy Judas and go to THAT club....

As a young Liverpool fan watching the reaction Owen got for joining Madrid.. you'd think he'd have looked down on him like the rest of us did.

Trent has got a ego, and definitely thinks he's a better player than what he actually is. Some of our players are specialist players picked out to fit in our system, and then get found out when having to change their way of playing to fit a new team. Take Coutinho for example.. he fitted the way we played and shone, but at Barca they used him more of a winger or in a 3 man midfield, and he couldn't step up.

I'm not sure if Trents been promised a midfield role at Madrid? Or if he's going to continue at RB.

Looks like Slot will not start him against Arsenal most probably to protect him from the crowd.

There is a high chance he'll do an Owen and move back to England after a few years while Real makes a tidy profit.

I don’t agree with booing him today, we are Liverpool and we don’t boo players that represent the shirt and as long as he wears it and goes out on the field he’s a Liverpool player. We are not Chelsea, ManUre or City to boo our players. He’s leaving, he’s leaving… no big deal as the club is bigger than any player and better players have left and we still succeeded. I fully understand not singing his name or clapping for him and I fully understand the anger at how he’s decided to leave.

We don’t boo though!

I couldn’t make the game today, but disappointed to hear the boos on Match of the Day.

I understand people’s frustration when it comes to a high profile player leaving on a free, but we’re better than this.
