Put simply we need someone else with his class - not easy to find and very expensive but thats the way it is. Whilst ever we have the paceless trio of Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch we'll be a top four side at best. Crouch is the best we've got of the other three.

We also need a great winger - Babel, Pennant and Benayoun aint done it!

Says it all really - Rafa buys Crouch, Voronin, Pennant, Kuyt and Benayoun and only one makes the starting line-up, scores bugger all and is as slow as a pensioner in the queue for Tesco's!

i'll try and get this back on track in terms of the topic and one fella who I don't think has been mentioned is Hibs forward Steven Fletcher.

He's big, powerful, quick and knows how to score. He's still young, 20/21 something like that and has just been called up to the Scottish first team for the first time. He's likely to get a run out against Croatia tonight. He's second or third top scorer in Scotland this year which is some achievement considering he doesn't play for one of the old firm.

A young British lad who can score as well as not costing to much. Even if not first choice, he's a good player to have on the bench in place of Kuyt/Voronin.

I doubt that Bayern would let either Luca Toni or Lukas Podolski go but either of them would be great. Failing that Hernan Crespo is struggling to get a game at the moment at Inter so we might be able to pick him up. Manchester United already have their sights set on Kareem Benzema but if we could get him that would be fantastic.

What does everyone else think?

Toni...knocking on a bit now and Italians don't fair to well in England.
Podolski...expensive but worth it from the bits I've seen of him.
Crespo...not in a million years.
Benezmar...same as Podolski. Pricey but worth it.

I suppose but Toni has done well in the fairly physical German League and he is clearly an Italian not afraid to move abroad. Of course Toni will have only just completed his first year at Bayern, he's going to want to stick around in Munich for a while. Might be able to get Podolski interested though, I don't know but I think he hasn't played outside Germany so he may want a challenge.
