Easy Luis Fabiano, has a realease clause of 11m euros (7-8m quid) and wants to leave Sevilla in the summer. A very hard-working second striker (which is always a bonus with Rafa), has formed a great partnership with Kanoute, he scores plenty of goals and gets plenty of assists. At 27 he's Brazil's first choice striker, strong, 6ft tall and quick, perfect for the Premier League. Oh and he's a great finisher, having scored 32 goals for Sevilla so far this season, plus goals for Brazil, and has a career record of around 1 goal every 2 games. Has a temper though, but who cares.

I'd be very surprised if Fabiano has a release clause of £7-8m.

During the transfer window, when Spurs were apparently interested in him, Del Nido said something along the lines of "we want £40m+ for him", so I find it hard to believe that his release fee would be so cheap.

Edit - apparently he and his agent are in dispute with the club over this clause, and he's also (apparently) part owned by a third party company (goal.com et al, 2008).

I heard the 11 mil story myself, it was Guillem Ballague that was talking about it on Revista La Liga one night, I think its do with the fact that he's part owned by a company (along the lines of masch/tevez) and 11 million euros will app buy him out of that. From what I've seen of him for Sevilla this year he looks very good, though I believe he'll be highly wanted in the summer. The fact that Ramos is at Spurs may make him want to go there, but you never know. Defo a quality player and one that could get us 20 + goals a season.

Do we need a partner as such, or do we need a backup striker? What happens if we get a player who cant play as a striker but is a support striker, then Torres gets injured, or has a bad run of form? What are we going to do. Play Kuyt, Crouch?
