He has probably gained some weight in the last year or two, this guy is a lot slower and cannot do sharp turns.

I never saw him doing sharp turns, he has a waist of iron, you can hear metalic sounds when he turns it.

But he's an excellent and underrated footballer. I think that when Rafa came one of his first priorities would be getting rid of him, but I think that Riise convinced him. Riise hasn't been given anything for free in LFC. He has earned every single drop of respect he has.

Made an excellent work against Chelsea defensively, and he was making harm at min 70 just as if it was min 20. Great job, so I thought it was the time to say once again how I rate this player. Haven't said so since last season so it was just about time.

much better playing further forward, as proved by his involvement in the second goal last night and his improved display against chelsea.

expect to see him left mid on saturday with aurelio left back. can't see gonzalez starting as hibbert will do the only thing he knows how and just kick him all over the place.

The worst player for us by a long mile again.

Stunk the Derby out last week.  Not having his best season for us.  Looks rotten at the moment.  I expect he'll be replaced by next season maybe, if Aurelio cannot sort his injuries out etc...

Riise has his moments but this season he has been a liability defensively, he's not the most imaginative going forward either. He would make a good squad player but for our regular left back or left winger we could clearly do a lot better.

As I said before, he may not be playing well, but our problems hardly lie in defence.

It's also worth noting that this season he has had four different partners on the left flank and not once our best LW ahead of him, which isn't helping him.

JAR seems doomed at anfield. We will get a new lb in the summer and he will be squad or gone. But what about replacements. Bale? No.

I think maybe lahm, Heinze(doubt it though) or ricardo gardner at bolton.

Riise has been poor for a while now and really needs to be pushed. I thought Aurelio would do this but that lad is  a demic. He looks overweight(Rise) and i think started to believe his own hype after istanbul. He did that awful tv programme in norway were he came across arrogant and big headed. He really pisses me off when we have a good break going and he'll just whack the ball from 40 yards out.

I thank him for his goals (especially one against man poo) but we are moving forward and jar shouldn't be in a title winning team.

top goal on his right foot as well, could well be absolutely crucial. Didn't he get teed up by Bellamy for it? Nice to see them clubbing together for the benefit of the team :D

He did f*ck all for 93 minutes, and scored a pearler of a goal.

MOTM should have gone to JC, IMO.

For a lad who takes a bit of criticism on this board you have to admit Jonny Riise has a habbit of making big contributions in big games! A crucial goal tonight to add to the cross for Gerrards Champ League Final opener, the net buster against the mancs, and the screamer he hit in the Carling Cup final!!

Get in Jonny Lad!!!  :D  :D  :D

And, he opened the scoring against Chelsea in the FA semi last year...

While he probably was partially culpable for Barca's goal he did sweep in that sweet curler with his weak peg tonight, so all is forgiven! :D

Actually, I thought he did well getting forward and causing Belletti problems while helping to keep an admittedly short-of-match-fitness Messi quiet down our left flank.

One of JAR's better outings this season.  Now, perhaps we can get Bellamy to wave a golf club at Pennant?
