The cash (£80mil) is to be paid to Mwanck Utd over a period of 7 -8 years (10mil a year or so). This is what has been reported (heard on few radio stations).

If we can buy Tevez, then I think we should get in there quickly.

The best thing about the Ronaldo transfer being a reported £80m is EVERYONE has heard it is £80m. Can't see the owners of players like Ribery, Silva, Villa, Eto'o, Benzema, Messi etc selling their players at anything other than a "generously" marked up price to the mancs, even if it is £80m made up of £40m up front and £40m in installments (or permutations thereof)

I think the mancs have made a mistake selling, as I think they may well do if they let Tevez go. Unless they needed to sell for financial reasons, they have just put at jeopardy their dominance in this country and arguably Europe. And the clubs with money will now see a potential weakness when wads of ££££ are waved under their noses, if I were in charge at Citeh I'd start bidding for the likes of Vidic, Berbatov and Rooney.

Really, what a sh1t deal, I'd demand at least half upfront, with the kind of money Real madrid are :censored: up the wall they might not be around in 10 years time, I'm being serious here, it's insane the cash they are spending, they must so fecking over leveraged it's crazy. Makes us look rock solid.

I refuse to believe that the mancs would sell their best player for an eight year, £10m a year, deal. That's silly, that would be like loaning him to them for £10m a year and I bet a lot of clubs would like that kind of arrangement. I said £40m up front, £40m in installments as a guess, if I were Man Utd that is the very least I would want up front, probably more like £50m or £60m, but with such a big fee that might be pushing it.

I mean for starters £10m a year wouldn't buy them a decent player, especially not to replace the void left by selling an £80m player. I find it a bit funny I was saying he was overdue an injury only the other day, maybe fergie was thinking that too and decided it was time to cash in while he is still at his optimum price

Yeah that sounds like a silly deal. If we get 30Mil for Xabi is that how they are going to pay for him? :censored: that no wonder Rafa wants 2 players as well.

Reckoning is we're closing in on Johnson, I dread not the signing but how 'Robbie Keane' the transfer fee is. I'd say opinions are divided on whether Ronaldo going to Madrid means Tevez will stay, some believe it's not the money but the player is unsettled and the mancs can only blame themselves for mucking Tevez about leading to inevitable rumours.

Of course the Ronaldo deal may fall through if Madrid realise Primark sell big girl's blouses for £4 and they're paying £79,999,996 too much for one! (ripped off an ITV teletexter)

From SSN

Sky Sports News understands that talks will begin with all interested parties hoping to sign Carlos Tevez on Monday and Tuesday.

Representatives of the Argentina striker will hold discussions with four clubs in the Premier League - Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Reports also suggest that one club in Italy and one in Spain are interested, although the Primera Liga side is not thought to be Real Madrid.

It is understood that Tevez himself will announce that he would prefer to stay in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old joined United on loan in 2007, but that deal expires at the end of June and speculation has suggested that the forward is ready to turn his back on Old Trafford.

Conjecture has implied that Tevez could view City as his preferred destination, with rumour suggesting the Eastlands outfit are prepared to offer a deal worth in the region of £140,000-a-week.

Lets hope he isnt in it for the money then or we have no chance

The biggest plus for LFC is there is the prefered language of the first XI bootroom and staff is spanish.

I wouldnt underestimate the spanish/latin influence at Anfield, it might tip the balance.

I Can't really see Tevez coming our way but if we're meeting is agents then Rafa must like him. If we did sign him I have a feeling it might precipitate Xabi leaving. I can't quite see where we would get the money for Tevez unless he was to be our only signing of the summer?
