He wont go to Real Madrid, Barca just bought Villa and that only leaves Inter and i dont think he would go there.

So if he is going anywhere its to City or Chelsea

Sad but true  :(

PS I heard we offered J.Cole 70 something k a week on a 4 year deal.

Apparently arsenal have offered £115k a week. That's quite a difference... Plus its a london club, so think we're out of the race

Cole left Chelsea cos he thought he was worth the same as Lampard and Terry, he was on about £70k so why would he take that when he's a free transfer  :no

If Arsenal offer him that then there'll be a few there knocking on the door and asking for the same

Some idiot was talking :censored: in the evenign standard tonight saying Torres' value has probably gone down during this world cup, and Abramovich shoudl use that to his advantage.

Yeah :censored: right. He is going to probably come back a world cup winner. Id say if anything it just went up 10Mil!

Hopefully Spain wins and that keeps him satisfied enough trophy wise to stay with us for at least another year. I'll be cheering them on anyway..put a $100 on them at 8-1 after the Switzerland game..sorry Dirky

Torres has, by his standards had a poor tournament.
But if you watched closely he has been in some great positions and not been passed to. Villa has scored some great goals but Torres has been there in the box waiting for the killer pass.
Just to prove it that we saw that little bell who wouldnt pass to him tonight.
I wonder if theres been some sort of conspiricy...

Having a poor world cup might just ork to our advantage, more potential buyers will be more reluctant to meet our asking price

The way this World Cup has panned out is perfect I think so far as the Torres situation goes. they've made the final which leaves less time to focus on his club situation + he's not having the greatest tournament so might look forward to the love and adulation he gets on the Kop. I actually think he will stay this season IF (and it's a BIG IF) the club insist he isn't for sale and refuse to entertain any offers. I think he loves the club, loves the city and loves the supporters but if the club give any indication that they are willing to do business then I should imagine he'll end up being sold. I actually think the fact Broughton is a Chelsea season ticket holder might work in our favour though, how would his position be tenable if he negotiated the sale of our best player to his home team?

I might be 200 miles away but you can count me in on the rally (riot) that takes place outside of Anfield if the club do sell him.

The way Torres is employed for Spain he never has a fantastic game or rather rarely. He does a lot of bit.ch work to get Villa into positions so it was only natural in the Euro final when Villa was injured that he took centre stage.

If he is sold to any English club I really hope there is a major backlash from the fans!

If he gets sold to Chelsea , surley to God questions have to be asked of Broughton our chairman . You know the who's a chelsea season ticket holder , the one who wouldn't attend the last game against Chelsea because it was a conflict of interests . WELL THIS WOULD BE THE MOTHER OF ALL CONFLICTS OF INTEREST .

Agree mate, surely his position would be untenable if that were to happen? I'm sure the fans backlash (which would be MASSIVE) would make it so.

Hasn't Broughton already been quoted as saying if he is desperate to win silverware maybe he should leave? It wouldn't surprise me Igor if he was already in negotiations. One thing I didn't like about Torres' recent comments was the part where he said he wants to wait until after his hols but the bit that stuck out was "teams can't do anything until then anyway".

What's this teams stuff? He plays for us and that's it. Thing is if he wanted to he could end all the speculation bu just saying he has a contract with us and wants to honor it ect...  To me this comes across as stringing everyone along.
