I actually think he will stay this season IF (and it's a BIG IF) the club insist he isn't for sale and refuse to entertain any offers. I think he loves the club, loves the city and loves the supporters but if the club give any indication that they are willing to do business then I should imagine he'll end up being sold. I actually think the fact Broughton is a Chelsea season ticket holder might work in our favour though, how would his position be tenable if he negotiated the sale of our best player to his home team?

I might be 200 miles away but you can count me in on the rally (riot) that takes place outside of Anfield if the club do sell him.

Yep. Those running the club are accused of sacking Rafa and choosing to employ Hodgson not for any football reason (I disagree), but because he's discreet, and this will "allow them to get away with 'it' " - 'it' being to sell players. Well, there would be nothing less discreet than selling Torres against his will. If selling players to reduce the debt is on the agenda, there are plenty of players on the periphery of the squad who would be sold before Torres. If Torres wants to stay, he'll stay, it's as simple as that IMO.

i was in a pub today in london and got chatting to a chavski fan. He starting spouting on about Torres and how he thought he "would probably come to us".

"no he :censored: wont" i replied.

Funnily enough, he walked off after that

If he is sold to any English club I really hope there is a major backlash from the fans!

Torres plays far too direct a game to see the best of him for Spain, IMO.  The national team is built on the Barca model of slow, patient build-up and pretty triangles all over the pitch, which means the lad is surrounded in tight quarters by the time he gets a touch.  Torres likes an early ball and an opportunity to isolate and run at defenders.  The English game suits him down to the ground.

That's exactly what I was thinking while watching him try to fit in throughout this whole tournament.  The whole Barcaesque way Spain play makes Torres seem like a fish out of water.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

^^ Obviously a wind up merchant but what amazes me is how City fans don't quite realise yet that players that sign for them are not there for success (or potential success) but purely for financial reasons. These players are footballing rejects.

Tevez - reject
Y Toure - reject
Toure - reject
Adebayor - reject

Silva is the only exception and he clearly hasn't been told the truth about which Manchester team he has signed for.

Those players maybe rejects but we would take them all and would take their position over ours at present in a flash

if stories are true about him suffering from home sickness he wont be there for long.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

Torres league record -  56 goals from 69 Premier League starts.

Keep him fit for the season and the history will write itself.

Very True

But no chance is he gonna stay fit for a season. Throughout the most of the past two season we have just been waiting for him to reach full fitness and he just keeps taking knocks. Bear in mind that this was with Rafa style caution.

Maybe Roy can solve this problem though, who knows
