Taxi for Torres - judas fecks off to chelsea

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

It's probably worth remembering that he hasn't gone anywhere or even said he's going anywhere yet mate. There's also the distinct possibility that if he is eventually sold, he'll go with the money men throwing in a free taxi ride in order to get him out of the door and get their hands on the cash.

To be totally honest I am less concerned about him going to another English club than I am either getting somewhere near his true worth (which is around 60 mill IMHO) and also the manager getting at least a decent portion of the money to re-invest. If it's a sale to Barcelona for 45 mill or a sale to Man City for 65 mill, I'd take the second one in a heartbeat over the first.

Good point Mick. I suppose with City it doesn't really make much of a difference as they would just go out and buy someone else. And it's not like we share the same targets this season either.

I couldn't handle it. Be worse than seeing Michael Owen in a manc shirt. If he goes, please let it be to a foreign team. You don't mind it when your ex girlfriend moves on but it's a different matter if she shacks up with one of your mates.

If he goes he isnt going to a foreign team

He wont go to Real Madrid, Barca just bought Villa and that only leaves Inter and i dont think he would go there.

So if he is going anywhere its to City or Chelsea

The only way it would be to Barca would be if it were a cut price deal. Or unless Roy manages to bag a good player plsu cash deal. Otherwise they don't really have the money to spend... and they still have to offload Ibrahimovic.

He's not going to make his mind up to go anywhere apparently until he finds out what direction the club is headed. Fair enough decision....

wasnt the agent quoted as saying he'll be staying in the Prem?

See that's the sort of guy he is, he wants to stay here and all we probably have to say to him is yeah we will be bought this year and then it will all be sorted...Hopefully we are.

PS I heard we offered J.Cole 70 something k a week on a 4 year deal.

Heard from a source today that Roman Abramovich flew down to Johannesburg to meet Torres' agent for a possible transfer of 50M to Chelsea.

Is there any truth to this?

You mean the rumour off the BBC gossip page linked to the telegraph............................................

"Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has flown to South Africa to try to secure the signing of Liverpool and Spain striker Fernando Torres for a British record £50m."

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport....es.html

Your 'source' didn't happen to have a copy of the telegraph on him at the time did he...........................?  :D

Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

We need to make sure that the asking price for English clubs is in the region of the £80m the mancs got for divingportugesewanker, or to citeh a bargain £120m

Just a shame the European Champions are so tight, not keen on package deals but I guess there are a few players we could do some kind of deal with, just Torres or indeed Torres and Mascherano. I'm guessing they won't go for it, Rafa might, but if Branca has him on reins then probably not.

Mancini 29 - weren't we linked with him at one point? Bit old mind, for a new signing

Kerlon 21 - young Brazilian

Eto'o 29 - another approaching 30, no doubt of his record though

Sneijder 26 - right age, could be the kind of player we need

Muntari 25 - only real reservation is ACN, but same goes for Eto'o

Don't think we'd get Lucio or Maicon, maybe not even those above, but if Inter are very keen on our players then we can make demands and they might succumb to them

Apparently arsenal have offered £115k a week. That's quite a difference... Plus its a london club, so think we're out of the race

He is employed by LFC, why should he love it?

He will do what is best for him and there is nothing wrong with that.
