We are going to be bare to the bone in terms of cover , i rate finnan higher than arbeloa , and i'm pretty surprised by this deal .

Most likely to accomodate Degen on the right. (or is he left-sided as well?)

And good luck to the lad - he did well for us.

It's strange that it has to be Espanyol for an undisclosed amount, given that we are on the verge of signing Riera from them.

Not sure this is a good decision.

But bye Stevie.

Best of luck.

Great service to LFC.

FFS.  A deal was obviously in the offing given that he's not even made the bench for us this season but it's bad business, IMO.  Not convinced at all by Arbeloa as a starting RB and that goes double for Degen, if pre-season reports are to be believed.  Big mistake this one. :no

A mistake maybe......hardly a big mistake, he was getting on, had struggled both with injury and form last season. A big mistake was selling Sissoko, by those standards this was merely a minor blip.

Sad to see him go as he was a decent player who had a few great years with us. Thanks and best wishes Steve.

Can't agree here, mate--we at least have ample, quality cover for Sissoko.  With Finnan we've got an--at best--decent utility defender and a lad who's been shocking by all accounts.

This I completely agree with, however! :nod

Sounds like this may be better of the Riera deal?

We have also got an England international right back mate.....Carra.  :D

It seems to me that once Rafa has made his mind up , there is no turning back ...... which leads me to think maybe Pennant and Alonso arn't long for our club either.

Atleast he's consistent with Fergie in that aspect.

Makings of a great manager who will stay long with the club and bring us shiny things, if you ask me :D
