Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think the lad has proved himself in what is renowned for being a tough league ,and it seems he's risen above the cloggers to become a player Brentford are loathe to lose.
Thoughts ?

Football clearly not your first sport anymore though mate , now if he pulled on the lycra and entered the Tour de France I'd wager you would know his inside leg

Must admit I'd forgotten about this lad. Looks very clinical and composed !

Not getting too excited at this point, far too often we've seen so much potential talent in our youth ranks just somehow fade away   :(

Woof, there's nowt wrong with lycra... I'm watching the Giro d'Italia at the mo, looking forward to it getting painfully steep and hilly. In terms of professionalism and fitness, footballers are in the dark ages - Sakho and his wife's slimming tablets for example...

Open water swimming is my game now, the best total work out you can do.

Haven't seen him play but I've read good stuff about him. Looks good on that video too, very fast, strong, confident and clinical. Definitely one to watch out for next season.

some of the defending in that video was bordering on the criminal but you can see that the lad knows how to finish. if as klopp says he could be available on sunday it would be nice to get a proper look at him.

There were always more physically and technically gifted players in Canos’s age group but what he has in his play (and I assume in his personality) is a determination and grittiness which means he will fulfil most of his potential, however great that may be. Watching him play you would think he was one of the tough kids from the streets of South America rather than a soft Iberian coming through the fancy Barcelona academy.

I’m sure like many players who Klopp hasn’t had the opportunity to work with, he’ll get the eye cast over him during pre-season and than a call will be made on what to do with him. My gut feeling is he isn’t at the level required right now to contribute next season but for the reasons mentioned above I think he could improve a hell of a lot if he trained regularly with the first team.

Looks like those potential problems Reg highlighted have escalated into something a bit more serious, the Echo is reporting that we can't come to an agreement with the lads representatives over money so we are letting him go for £4m.
Apparently Watford and QPR lead the chase for his signature.

Unfortunately time isn't on our side when it comes to developing youngsters. He could well develop into a decent player but Klopp doesn't have time to wait for that to happen. He knows he has to hit the ground running next season and will make sure he has a squad capable of doing that from game 1

Good luck to the lad, my only gripe with this type of deal is that the lad barely got a chance, some players like Suso, Texiera, Wisdom etc at least got a handful of games but off the top of my head I can't recall Canos ever getting a run out for the first team.
