Torres has definitely lost alot of pace in the last 12 months, all those injuries have caught up with him. Our fastest player out there today was probably Glen Johnson and he got left like a statue by Modric for their equalizer.

He actually had to stop as Modric entered the box, knowing that that :censored: ref would give a peno if he had sneezed on him

Not to mention he should have brought in some fresh leg a lot earlier as maxi wasn't helping defensively. He was out of gas. Roy is not professional at all. WTF.

Is this a joke? Roy did everything 100% today, what did you want him to do Cuddle Carra?

As has been said, doesnt matter what he does, with fvucktards like you anywhere near the club hes got no chance.

Im not Roys biggest fan but comments like that are ridiculous.

Just stating what i saw today. When carra got hurt, he didn't even ask anyone to warm up, you think he did right 100%?When Lenon score, he should bring in Babel or another forward to try to get even right away and not just sit there and admit defeat. THe result might be the same but he needs to react and change his tactic according to the situation.

I'm not going to argue with brainless little sh.it like you and calling people fuc.ker. Dont give me that "i'm not one of the Roy supporter but sh.it.....!" I was alway consistent and don't think Roy was the correct choice. I think we played great tonight as i mentioned i wasn't as upset at the result. Just to state the incident that he doesn't have the tactical skill to bring our team forward.

And you think bringing on Babel is tactically advancing? Jesus, Dawson is right there just no point trying with some people.

Maybe I was watching a different game then some of yous but I thought Roy did very well today. We set up well and went for it and in the end were very unlucky.

What more do people want from him?

It wasn't his fault Tories and Maxi missed their chances, we should have been 3 up at half time

cheers mate lol

look, what it comes down to, is this game... Roy did everythiung as he should have, as anyone would have. we lost, we could have won, if it had been a draw neither team would complain... we got some unlucky decisions as well with the ref, but Roy did us proud and finally playde the game as we should have played all our away games this season

Thing is when defending when facing a player is that if your midfield allows that player to pick up pace, it's hard to turn and run after someone that's at full pelt once he gets past. No matter how quick you are, you're not going to catch that person until you're at full pelt, which usually takes a few seconds because you've to turn then chase. A few seconds are often too much time around the box, as it only takes a second or two before the ball is in the back of the net. To counter that, defenders need to be in a good position. Glen and Carragher just didn't shut the space out good enough today, and Merieles went missing allowing Modric and Lennon to get a good run at our back line exposing Carragher too many times. First time he'd to hack and get booked which meant he had to let Modric go past him or risk being sent off due to being carded. Konchesky was just guilty of all sorts of schoolboy stuff and was at fault for their second and the winning goal. I'd a feeling he was going to be roasted today. Him and Johnson.

I know people were fearing the worst for big Glen today up against Bale but I thought he did well and keep the flavour of the month pretty quiet. Its a shame Konchesky couldnt keep his eye on Aaron bloody Lennon for about 94mins

Post match comments

Pretty much sums up how most of us are feeling, and he was pragmatic about the penalty as well as not going overboard on the possible penalty for the foul on Kuyt. Good showing from Roy today overall, long may it continue

as some have said, Roy got the tactics right, but his players let him down. WTF was Maxi trying to do when 1 on 1? It isn't the first time he's frozen up in goal either, v disapointing.

I'm pleased in a way, we're showing signs of progress and should have won today, easily.

It's a step forward performance wise - we finally went positive during an away match . Now he has to show it wasn't a one off . Overall it's still not good enough - 19 points from 15 games is a poor effort . Let's hope those tiny little signs come together to improve us but I still don't think he has the right mentality to be a manager for a club with top 4 ambitions and would still like to see him replaced .

Can't really argue with that. One thing is that apparently our next 'tough' game is February or something stupid like that... but you're 100% right, Roy must watch that game, hear how the crowd got behind the team and play a similar way in all away games, and hopefully he'll change some minds

Daws - not sure what is a tough game these days - we have played our best stuff against Chelsea , Arsenal , Spurs and small period against mancs while losing to Blackpool , Everton , Stoke etc . So not sure if not facing the top teams is a good thing or not

it is if we play like we did today.. we could have easily won... we play like that against Newcastle on 11th away and we could smash a load in

We'll have to wait and see, out next few games though:

home - Villa
away - Newcastle
home Fulham
away blackpool
home wolves
home bolton
away blackburn

Id take that christmas lineup any day
