yeah but so what Bob? so what?

we've lost Scottbott, and now it looks like Kharhaz is leaving too as he has been unfairly carded. Mistyred, Destro and Judge dont post anymore. Dawson is 1 card away from being banned. Festy and Owzat have been banned and its yet to be lifted despite it being ages.

you were the one who locked the Roy thread when those "carols" were being spouted hence you should know that it was probably the forum's lowest point. but does locking threads and deleting posts solve the issue? no it doesnt! it merely covers it up and someday it would be exposed once more. its like digging one hole to bury another.

the blatant disrespect is overwhelming on this forum and thereby chasing many posters away. posters are making disrespectful comments about Roy claiming it to be jokes and mere banter. but the joke really is on them! for people their age they are behaving like a bunch of immature kids thinking they are funny but they really are classless nobodies with zero respect, and its ironic considering their age. and just because they go to a match doesnt make them a better fan. they are just lucky to be in a better geographical location. yet, the feel the need to bring up that defense to make their insecure selves feel better doesnt it!? the type of poster you are here reflects on the type of person you are in real life.

some harp on about how respect is earned. but thats pure rubbish! its a failed theory that does not make sense at all. Thommo explained is best in one of his recent posts.

you wanna know why you see spats happen often? its being some posters feel they have this veil of immunity shrouded upon them preventing them from being carded despite the garbage they post time and time again. hence, they go further each time they get away with it.

when was the last time you saw Judge and Festy edit each others' posts and have a go at each other? when did Misty, Judge and myself along with Destro have our banter on the riddles page and it would actually be funny? how many % of the threads that has been started this year, have not gone off the rails and turned into a flame war? why are certain posters seemingly so much happier on the Inter's boss thread? when was the last time we had a thread opened by Owzat sharing some interesting stat that would leave to good discussions?

It takes two to tango and both sides of the so called debate need to take responsibility for their actions with the current situation .

What we are seeing now is pretty much a mirror around all the forums - why - because of the team and whats happening -

Because things arent going well people vent their anger and then people responded and downhill it goes .

One side insulting the manager - the other side insulting the people who are insulting the manager with both sides as guilty as each other .

it will only change unfortunatly when either everyone is banned or we get an improvement on the pitch

we both know thats not entirely true..
Its obvious that its only a bunch of people on the forum who are comfortable throwing around insults.. I wont deny i've been guilty of it too but the majority of this group are the same people who defended Rafa last season and are insulting Hodgson this time around..

You have people insulting the manager and then insulting other posters who decide to reply to their posts.. It only takes going back a couple of pages on this thread or any other thread on the forum to figure it out...

dont talk rubbish ok Benny? if not for those jokes and insults aimed at Roy, spats wouldn't occur. you can apply the "but for" test here. so use your brains for once and stop being a hypocrite.

there are many ways to put forward your views with substance but no they fail to do that. and you too, don't think you're not guilty of flaming threads and causing it to derail with your endless questions and merry go round games you play when you have no other points to make. so don't act like some innocent victim of the forum going downhill when you're just as guilty of making it what it is today.

so when a fellow poster makes fun of our manager, who happens to be their manager too, do we sit back and watch and laugh with them? next time you try to give me a "it takes two" argument, apply common sense to it.

And you have just proved my point exactly - they started blah blah so we must respond - accepting responsibility - I'm offering no excuses for the people who abuse the manager - both sides MUST take responsibilty - there is no good side against bad side - its just pathetic all-round with both sides refusing to accept they are part of the problem .

Both sides give as much as they get, even if they do it in slightly different ways. The defenders of roy are also good at bringing rafa into just about every single post just to wind people up. Its never going to end as long as you keep blaming everyone else.

Exactly mart - the problem is just as max has just proved - some will never accept they are also part of the problem they are constantly complaining about .

Dundalk wrote:I said from the start I would give Roy until Christmas at least, I see it as only fair. That said things are not looking good for him at the moment. He has lost the majority of the fans and that in itself will be hard to get back. Some of the football we have been playing recently has been unacceptable and its hard to take as a Liverpool fan watching your team take a beating against Stoke City and losing at home to Blackpool. On the other hand, we were fantastic in the first half against Chelsea and at times this season have showed what we can do.

I think Roy will see Christmas as Liverpool manager, in fact I think he will be here at the end of the season. Listening to our owners comments today regarding bringing in players in the summer, Roy will get to the end of the season to prove he can do the job and if, in the the owners eyes he can, he will be given the money to spend in the summer. If however he has a poor second half to the season he will not be trusted with that money and a new man will be brought in. Mr Henry comments today seemed to indicate that their will not be much spent in January, and that being the case, Roy will be kept on as at the very least a stop gap until someone else comes in and that wont be until the summer.

The club is in a strange period in its history, after the disaster that was Hicks and Gillett is can hopefully look forward to a promising future under NESV. But at the moment thanks to the transfer windows we are stuck in limbo with a lot of ordinary players and a manager that a lot of the clubs supporters dont want. Well let me tell you that this limbo is going to go on for a long time yet and although January is coming it isnt going to make much of a difference, so expect much of the same until the summer. What I mean by that is we ARE going to lose more games and we ARE still going to argue and fall out with each other because at the moment there is a big divide. Things are not going to change overnight and we are in for a bumpy ride before it starts to run smoother.

Whats upset me most is the way that some of our fans have behaved during all of this. Im not talking about anyone in particular on here, I seen it on loads of different forums and from Liverpool supporting mates. If as a fan you dont like Roy then fair enough. If you want Roy out then fair enough. If you didn't want Roy appointed in the first place then fair enough. But why fans have to ridicule the man, call him names and make fun of his looks, his personality and his age is beyond me! Ive never really heard of the Manchester way or the Chelsea way. I have however like thousands of other people heard of the Liverpool way which sadly is dying more and more each day. We are known as knowledgeable fans but unfortunelty we are becoming like all the rest. We are no different these days to Newcastle or Spurs fans. We want success and we want it yesterday. Not stopping to see the bigger picture that a major rebuild is needed. Hicks and Gillett killed the Liverpool way nearly overnight but what is left of it, a lot of the current Liverpool fanbase are finishing it off.

Great post mate and i totally agree.

Like Bob has said, virtually everyone agrees that Roy is probably out of his depth.

That's a start.

We probably all want a new manager to inject a new lease of life into this squad that has been going backwards for about 18 months.
Whether some still think Rafa should be here isnt relevant anymore.

We all want the club to move forwards.
Its doing nobody or the forum any good all of this.

The insults or abuse to Roy really needs to stop.

If people dont want him here and are genuinely concerned about where he is taking the club that's understandable but he doesnt deserve personal insults.

I hope they stop.

And i hope that the owners find a man that can take us forward asap because i dont like arguing with fellow fans that i actually think are sound people.

Part of a letter thats been sent to the new owners from someone off RAWK.

In a curious way, the epic swindle that removed Hicks & Gillet also removed the common enemy that was keeping the supporters largely united. Now the bond of unity between supporters has begun to unravel. Things are falling apart. The centre may not hold.

The good news is that as supporters we are prepared to dig deep and remain faithful so long, I believe, as the custodians of the club honour our history and our traditions. The bad news is that in Roy Hodgson, you have a manager who does neither.

You said recently: "Liverpool values are well known. What makes Anfield so special beyond the history of the ground are the people who populate Anfield each match. They value the club first and foremost. That is what we have to ensure every person who wears a kit or works for the club at any level has in the their minds first and foremost: the club comes first."

While you persist with Hodgson, those words are hollow and hypocritical.

There is a story - perhaps a fable - about a very successful football club called Leeds United and a very successful football manager called Brian Clough. Clough was appointed to succeed Don Revie, the manager who built Leeds up to be one of the most powerful in Europe. At his first team meeting, Clough told his new players, Don Revie's players, to throw all their hard-won medals into the trash because they were won by cheating and ugly football. 44 days later, Clough was fired. Leeds has never been a true football power since.

The point of the story is that Clough had no respect for the history or traditions of his new club.

Brian Clough was a remarkably successful football manager. Following the debacle at Leeds he went on to win two successive European Cups with the far from wealthy or glamorous Nottingham Foreset. If Dan Quayle was no Jack Kennedy, then Roy Hodgson is no Brian Clough. And yet Roy Hodgson is our Brian Clough.

We are the wild-hearted outsiders who need to bond with our manager and our players in a battle against the rest of the world. Hodgson's addicted to media and peer approval and considers us to be, at best, an audience and, at worst, a nuisance .

We expect to win. He's scared of losing.

We love talented, attacking footballers. He prefers effective automatons.

We call a spade a :censored: shovel. He calls it a metallicized digging implement with an extended handular leverage structure and will talk for 45 minutes about how he invented it 35 years ago in Sweden.

I could go on. And on. And on. But I imagine you are all being inundated with complaints about Hodgson, so I won't. I shall simply say that:

- You should listen to supporters, not the media. The media has no love of Liverpool FC and conspired at the appointment of Hodgson. They have a corpse in their mouth. Some of our players are just as bad.

- You should protect the value of your brand - the reputation of the relationship between supporters and club. The foundations took decades to build. The edifice can be toppled in a matter of weeks, And rebuilding it - if possible - will be a lengthy and costly exercise.

Of course, you don't have to respect our history, our traditions, our supporters and the immense contribution we make to the brand. There are other ways to manage the business that is Liverpool FC. Other ways to succeed. You can rebrand us if you like. But ask yourself, how did that work for Coca Cola in 1985? If you don't want to own Liverpool Classic, why didn't you just buy Blackburn, or Portsmouth?

Call me a slut call me a whore, but I am not fuckin stupid and I refuse to let my club be brought down to his level.

You edited your post this morning but last night you asked if I had been hurt by any of my family  who had been to Heysel or Hillsborough and came back with bad memories or worse still a death. I think you answered the question by saying "have you fu*k?...

Well thankfully I can answer your question by saying no none of family were at either of those tragedies and my deepest deepest sympathy goes to anyone who was affected by those events. And if you lost anyone or had any friends or family affected from it Ciggy then again my deepest sympathy to you.

If this makes me a smaller Liverpool fan then you then so be it. In your eyes should I not be allowed to have an opinion on Liverpool Football Club because of this? Im 31 years old and have supported Liverpool for 27 of them. I get to Anfield a few times a year and would be more but for financial reasons.

Some of the stuff you said last night, which you have edited this morning was a bit sad and seemed to indicate that unless I had felt pain from some of Liverpool past tragedie  or didnt go to every game Liverpool played home and away then I dont know what Im talking about....   :(
