Can't really use Shanks as a comparison can you - he hadn't spent 35 years in management already without winning any trophy or note - nor had he already had a top at a top club and watch them get relegated .

But neither can you say those things about Hodgson You do make some very strange statements sometimes. What had Shanks won BTW before he became Liverpool manager (I genuinely didn't know he had).

So I take it from the deafening silence that Shanks actually hadn't won much before he took over.

Look why don't we make a deal. Lets stop comparing our more recent managers to some of the absolute fecking legends of the past. None of them are fit to lace the legends boots. People used to compare Benitez to them , fecking beggars belief really.

I can say those things about Hodgson because they have already happened - no major trophy of note , getting a top team relegated .

But scotch hole had won nothing of note and look what happened to him

He won a European trophy and won a couple of titles in Scotland at a time when only two teams win . He also took 6 years to win the prem despite spending more than anyone else and came close to getting sacked - Lee Martin and mark robins in FA Cup saved him .

He spent 20 million during the summer ( at the time a lot of money ) and failed and got sacked and the team he built got relegated .
