I certainly do not advocate sacking Roy Hodgson but I would appreciate him taking a good hard look at the games he has been in charge of and learn from the tactical mistakes he has made;whether it be team selection , team formation and the tactics he employed for the games in question. His after match interviews are becoming more and more akin to the final days of Gerard Houllier and have all the traits of a relegation team manager making excuses for some dire performances on and off the pitch.

Just to re-iterate ....I do not advocate the sacking of Roy Hodgson and I am fully aware of the reasons for some to have Rafa Benitez removed from the helm......would Benitez & Mourinho have gained any more points this season..probably...would Mourinho have taken the job under the same circumstances as Roy Hodgson..not in a million years..

Come on Roy tell the players to take the finger out the ar.ses and perform and play the players in their best positions...tell SG he is not capable of protecting the back 4 so you are shifting him up the field... :eyebrow

Rightly or wrongly, he got the job. He will be a success or a failure based on what he does HERE.

This isn't his team/squad. Nobody could turn us around in just 6 weeks.

You just dont get it Niall your judgement is being clouded by your hatred of Rafa as much as you and others want Roy to be the next Joe Fagan or Bob Paisley he will always be Roy Hodgson and he will never succeed in the Liverpool job whether he had the fans behind him or not.

Yesterday listening to Holloway and Hodgson the former spoke about us like we where his team whilst our manager waffled on about us being in a relegation battle.

It wont be to long before you and other realise that Roy is not a Liverpool manager.

No you can't fire a man for what he done previously but if you have any brains (not you personally Niall) you would take heed and use that knowledge to realise there is a good chance it could go down the same route. At Blackburn he was also supposed to finish in the top 6 but what happened there?

As for his team this and that lets not forget a year ago they were suppposedly a title challanging team (most deffo a top 4 team no?) who were not being 'used right' or 'motivated in the right way'.

Let's also not forget we again were not able to spend all of what we brought in from player sales. When you lose players like Mascherano and bring in a less than adequate replacement for such an important position it is bound to have an effect. His absence has basically exaggerated the problems of our defence and as a result we are leaking goas.

How long should managers get?

No competition is worthless

We won't agree on that.

Shouldn't it be his record here that decides whether he keeps it?

Bob Paisly was a physio, I doubt I would have supported that at the time but I would have given him more than 7 league games, let him sign the players he wants and sell the ones he doesn't.

I know the answer to that one but you will be fecked if they will admit it, they would rather see us get relegated than be honest about it.

I also notice Thommos perm & Big Mick have deserted the good old uncle Roy topic.

How can any manager turn around the mess that he was left with, with little spending money, in just 7 league games?

There is nothing left to play for this season (we won't go down!) so it is all about Roy finding out what system works best with these players and what players he needs to get rid of.

Why not give him 2 full seasons before calling for his head?

Go on Roy :buttrock

Because we'll be in the Championship by then.

Hicks and Woy stay, we'll finish lower mid table this season, lose Torres and Gerard in the summer with no replacements as Hicks struggles to come up with more money, and get relegated the next year.

No one said five years ago that the banks could go under, yet look what happened. All bets are off.

Such disrespect to the LFC manager is a disgrace. Give the man the respect any man deserves and call him by his name.

Some "supporter" you are

Keep your knickers on Niall, referring to Roy as "Woy" is hardly a disgrace, in fact, its a term of endearment many fans of his previous teams have used. For the record I think Woy is a decent man and I wont indulge in any name calling.

Casting aspirations about the merits of a poster's "supportiveness" is a bit small minded and asinine at this point, dont you think? If we want to go down that road we could go into your long history of hostility towards the previous regime, but we wont, as you are entitled to your opinion, just as I, mine.

You really think I (or anyone else here) would prefer us to get relegated with Roy than do well with somebody else?

His record so far is appalling mate and he has made so many mistakes already it's looking like the best thing to do is cut your losses.

stop the rot early enough for a new man to come in and have enough time to sort it out. No point waiting until 3 games from the end, still in the bottom 3 needing 10 points from 3 games.

Yes Roy has been left a very thin squad of players, but you cant tell me that blackpool had a better side out than us on Sunday. Our problem now seems to be no shape and players not knowing what he wants from them. Then of course there is the silly interviews and tactics. No sorry, Hodgeson not good enough for Liverpool, not now, not ever.

That's because he is using his tactics from Malmo and the other teams no one has heard of. He has tried do a 180 with the team tactics wise and it isn't working because we don't have players suited for that style.
