Liverpool finished the game with Gerrard at centre-back, Raul Meireles at left back and with Kyrgaikos up front. They are a shambles on and off the pitch.

and they started the game with Carragher at left back.
we've only won it 5 times

I have backed Roy from the start simply because I thought the man deserved a chance and being truthful i still think he does. Havent said that i am starting to get worried with our current plight.

The players have to take some blame but at the end of the day the buck stops with the manager. Roy needs to get things right and fast, international break might do us the world of good but when we come back we need to hit the ground running or Roy is facing the boot. We will wait and see

FWIW i think it was right to sack Rafa because it had gone stale under his management and we did need a change but i am begenning to wonder if we might have picked the wrong man. But as I said im still willing to give Roy some more time and turned things around

I wouldn't be surprised if all our main stars start to leave slowly one by one and so does the gaffer.. Then new owners pop in and a complete LFC transformation takes place.. Fresh new faces and new stars to take liverpool back to where they belong..

This is why I was happy Dalglish did not get the job. I believed whoever who took the job would flop, simply because of events beyond a manager's control (i.e. owners). Roy to me, was the unfortunate dispensable scapegoat who took the poisoned chalice. If Kenny had took it then, his legacy will always be soured, and he would not be given a second chance in charge.

Hopefully after all the mess is over with the owners (hopefully before we slip too far into the relegation battle), Dalglish will be left standing as the man in charge.

We can blame Roy all we want but this team had a boatload of chances vs. Blackpool and missed all but one. This team does not have players who know what to do in the final third it seems. It was the same issue last season. Add to it a slow and shaky back four and we have the current mess my beloved childhood team seems to have stumbled into.
Rafa, Roy it clearly doesn't matter. They are not the ones missing the goal chances when it's presented to them. I hated Rafa's tactics but I'm beginning to see the reason he had an all defense midfield was because he knew this team couldn't win in a shootout.
It's going to take a long time to sort out this team because the players LFC has are not going to improve anytime soon.

world class :D

glad the clowns back posting.

you never saw us the whole of the second half of last season? You never saw the looks Stevie et al gave the manager as he made ridiculous decision after redicolous decision.  :no

Joker

Forget Stevies face last season. I'm sure if you look at Fernando's or Pepe's face today they will give Stevie a run for his money.

Relegation zone dawson, alarm bells are ringing mate. Whatever your thoughts towards the previous manager they need to be put to one side. We need to look at the now and how to stop the rot and for me that starts with sacking Hodgsen.

but we know that wont work. If world class Rafa struggled, and now an english manager has struggled, cant we see its deeeper than that?

We need to take serious action against the owners

Valencia has been struggling with bankruptcy for a few seasons now...
the last i chk they are in the champs league n current top of the league.
the main issue of playing poorly shouldnt be attributed to those lousy owners.

ok, can i attribute it to the buying and selling of over 50 players in the last few seasons? And players like Aquilani and Robbie Keane just mucking things up?

Can i say that going for Barry and losing alonso contributed? Or not treating players like Crouch, Bellamy, Cisse or 20 other players that should have been playing today?

We can make 1000 reasons why things are f*cked up mate

how abt playing Raul at right mid?
Carra at left back? sending Insuna on loan?

using $10m to sign 2 players (near 30) who one was tore open by the theatrical nani n another who is subsituted before 65min, 2 games in a row.

not signing another striker?

The problem is he's been using this system for over 35 years and he believed it works and is sticking to his gun. This is the only system he knows. This really show he is not up to it and has no understanding with our players.

The sad reality is that we are stuck with him as we don't have the money to hire someone respectable. That leaves us with Kenny as the only choice since he would take less money to be interim. We can then review at season ends whether to make him a perm or not.

This is what some of us has been saying before Benitez went. The main problem are the owners and the lack of squad strengthening in the last 1 1/2 seasons of rafa. But the anti-rafa brigate insisted "no rafa couldn't get the best out of the squad. We need someone who puts an arm around the shoulders of players... Not someone who is always not satisfied with the team's performance. Now we are in the delegation zone because we changed managers if it were Kenny, he would at least have the chance of improving on last season's 7 th place. Now I'll be surprised if we can finish above 7 th...

And still managed to win 5 league titles in a row.  :glare:

That tells you all you need to know about the scandinavian leagues. Ffs, even Steve McLaren won a dutch title with Twente.

What has he exactly done in all his years in the EPL....

no, it just shows how stats can be manipulated easily to fit one's agenda especially if its gonna have a negative impact on our CURRENT manager.

1) Hodgson spent five years at Halmstads BK, winning the league championship in 1976 and 1979. His success with Halmstad in 1976 is considered as one of the biggest surprises of all time in Swedish football. The year before, Halmstad had struggled against relegation and before the 1976 campaign began, they were almost universally tipped for relegation.

2) In 1985, he took over at Malmö FF, which he led to five consecutive league championships, two Swedish championships and two Swedish Cups. Due to his successful time at Malmö, Hodgson is still highly appreciated by the club's fans who have unofficially named a section of the new Swedbank Stadion "Roy's Hörna" (Roy's Corner).

how do you win the league with 35 defeats in a row? i agree with LFC2007, that its nonsense.

having a chance to do so, and doing it itself are 2 different things.

fukkk you .

Pardon me then for changing the R to W. I think Rafa got called a lot worse from most on here.

Oh he did by the fella thats just called you a kunt thats the reason he has 4 warning cards, short memories these people.

Showing so little respect to the liverpool manager (just because he can't prounounce the letter R) is a disgrace. Add in the fact that he has managed just 7 league games and has been given no time to turn around the benitez blunder shows how impatient/stupid many fans are.

Are we Newcastle in disguise?
