We are playing extremely poor while Blackpool are exceeding all their expectations and have their heads up and Evertons morale will be high after a great result today so they are going to be crucial games that we are going to have to up our performance levels massively to beat them both.

Why do you take great pleasure in stating the Fu*king obvious?
And could you answer my previous question please?

Nah not really your boring me now - we will just end this wonderful relationship now and agree to disagree and move on with the thread .

Now you know how the rest of us feel.
I'll put you out of your misery. The answer is there is no answer.
"football reasons"? Haha one of the most ridiculous statements Ive ever heard. Where did you get that from? On second thoughts dont tell me. Id rather just think you made it up all by yourself in that wierd and wonderful place you call your mind.
If only youd use it to be positive instead of constantly trying to convince us how bad things are and will be?

The pressure will grow on Hodgson if we lose tomorrow and the derby in two weeks time. He obviously won't walk though unless the fans turn against him.

Furious Roy Hodgson hits out with Liverpool desperate for points

By JOE BERNSTEIN Last updated at 7:00 PM on 2nd October 2010

QUOTE
A defiant Roy Hodgson has described himself as 'one of the most respected coaches in Europe' and said it is 'insulting' to suggest he cannot handle Liverpool's big-name stars.
And in a strong message to the Anfield players, he indicated they must share the blame for Liverpool's indifferent start, claiming some of them are not living up to their reputations and have not played any better than his Fulham team did last season.
Hodgson's decision to go on the attack ahead of today's crucial game against Blackpool is at odds with his nice-guy image but supporters will say it leaves no doubt he has the steel for football's toughest job.

Well-respected: Roy Hodgson has hot out at his critics
But his comments represent a gamble with Liverpool currently near the bottom of the Premier League table, having picked up only six points from six games and fell into the bottom three after Everton's first league win yesterday. They were also embarrassingly knocked out of the Carling Cup by League Two Northampton Town.

Off-field problems will see fans demonstrate again today against American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett while the club could be taken over by the Royal Bank of Scotland this month if the owners default on a £280 million debt. Hodgson, 63, was widely seen as a safe pair of hands when he succeeded Rafa Benitez in the summer but the pressure has been building, with Fernando Torres struggling in front of goal and new signing Joe Cole failing to shine.

Nonetheless, the former Blackburn and Fulham boss is angered by suggestions he will have to change his management style to succeed at Liverpool. His previous biggest job came at Inter Milan in the mid-1990s.

'It is insulting to suggest that because you move to a new club, your methods suddenly don't work when they've held you in good stead for 35 years and made you one of the most respected coaches in Europe. It's unbelievable,' he said.

'I've had two-and-a-half wonderful years (at Fulham) where nothing ever negative was said about me and my team. Now maybe people are saying negative things. It doesn't change anything. I work the same way as I did last year.
'My methods have translated from Halmstads to Malmo to Orebro to Neuchatel Xamax to the Swiss national team and many other jobs as well. I am doing the same things and the most important things to me are the players.

Be realistic, don't insult my intelligence with that. What bothers me is that we have only got six points and I would have liked a few more. But then I knew Manchester United and Manchester City were going to be tough games. I knew Arsenal with 10 men was going to be a tough game, so maybe six points isn't so bad at all. We are averaging two points from the other three.'

Significantly, Hodgson also called on Liverpool players to take more responsibility to go along with their reputations. Although 15 of the Anfield squad were picked by their countries for the World Cup, Hodgson does not seem to be over-impressed by some of them.
He said: 'I don't understand questions about Liverpool and Fulham players being different types. At the moment arguably one or two of the players that are suggested as being very different to the Fulham players maybe aren't playing any better than the Fulham players played. So maybe people should be having a look at that. If I can be accusatory of some journalists, I think they work on names and not on performances. A judgment is based on their name and not necessarily what they have actually done on the day.'

Backing the boss: Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher supports Roy Hodgson
Hodgson's strong comments come only three months after he replaced Benitez, who left for Inter Milan with the club in chaos on and off the field. But he will have to back up his outburst with results, starting against a Blackpool side that shipped four goals at Chelsea and six at Arsenal.
At least Hodgson has received solid support from his vice-captain Jamie Carragher: 'People shouldn't forget about how Benitez and Gerard Houllier struggled to make an impact in the League when they first became manager. Liverpool is about winning trophies, but sometimes clubs go through times when they have to rebuild. Roy Hodgson is going through that.'

10th actually. based on goal difference.

well, either actually. win by 4-0 or more and we'd be 9th (i know it's not likely at the moment but still possible)

and a win would see us 2 points off 3rd place!

People need to get a grip of themselves and support the man in charge. I've never, in my 9 years of following Liverpool that fans have been so low to stop supporting a manager after 6 games!!! He deserves his chance, just like every other manager deserved their chances! Like we always say ''judge us in May''.

Look, like many of you, I wasn't ecstatic about his appointment, I doubt he will deliver anything, but I do think he deserves his shot and deserves his chance to prove himself.

He deserves our support.

Including all competition this year and with pre-season, I'm sure we had played more than 6 games. YOu are saying you support him in the forum. How does it work to help Roy's getting the support. This is just a forum for people to voice their opinion. I respect your view but that doesn't make us a lesser fans than you. It's like saying you see Roy jumping into a fire and will die, do you blindly following like Leonardo in Titanic "you jump, I jump"? The thing is if we drag this longer, the season cannot be salvaged. You want to bet Roy can turn it around? I don't, give me some fact that he is doing right over all the games we had played! All I saw now is things are getting worse. If you think Roy needed more games to gel, then why didn't Roy play the best 11 in even a non league game so they can gel faster? Why he keep insisting a defensive system knowing most of our skilled player are more suitable to be an offensive system? Why he seems to have no clues on everything? This has nothing to do with what kind of person Roy is. He might be a gentleman and all but if he can't motivate the players and play a right system, I'm sorry but he got to go. We are suggesting to remove him now to fix the problem and not trying to drag it so long that we will be fighting relegation by Xmas. Just look at the players that we have. They don't even need a manager if you just put the best 11 players and let them play. You want to bet we can beat even blackpool with our system? Roy wanted to play even more defensively but you think that is easier for us to win games? We don't have the players. When Roy get a chance to get the players he wanted, do you want us to look like fulham and play like a small club? He is a big mistake. This has nothing to do with either you support him or you don't. I support the club and thus i care. Why there is a solution and not limit your losses.

Look, I respect all opinions, and that is sensible criticism,  but when people start going beyond being silly and making a fool of themselves, you question their allegiance. The season will never salvage, with or without Roy, this is a certainty, we will never be the team we want to be. We have two c*nts of custodians who do not know how to run a club, disgruntled players and no financial muscle to compete with the top teams! I doubt if Mourinho, or Hiddink, or even Kenny Dalglish comes in and salvage something, honestly, I don't see it, not until we get stability into our club. Rafa f*cked it up big time last season, so it was time for him to go, all the players knew it, He himself knew it and the board too. Roy came in, and he deserves his chance, just like Houllier and just like Benitez. I ask you, why can't he have it?

If you think Roy needed more games to gel, then why didn't Roy play the best 11 in even a non league game so they can gel faster?

Well, there was the World Cup was there right? most of the players came late and didn't even have a preseason! Any manager would be daft to exert pressure on his players, it will only cost injuries early on in the season. Even the sports science team in Liverpool (known as the best) advice not to rush our players in too fast!

Roy has his own ideas, and it takes time for the players to adapt to it. Didn't you read what Pepe said? or what Carragher said? they need to get used to the ideas! its a normal situation for it to happen, in the end if the tactics work and we win games no one will complain about it.

Okay, I admit I am depressed after the last European game on Thursday.
Roy is partially right about players not playing well or pulling their weight. Maybe it is expected since the players are not too sure of the system.
Maybe time is what we need for the team to gel. But having said that I hope the team shows more "ability" than to pass the ball back and forth.
Not to mentioned show some penetrative play at the opposition end.
So far it has been disappointing. While I agree it is NOT entirely Roy's fault. The team he inherited has been playing negative football for years.
However, I do hope to see more progress than what has been on displayed for the last few games.
Rather than feeling sorry for themselves, players should start to have a go at the opposition. Get the chain off their own ability and stop thinking within a box they has been accustomed to.

What I think should be improved on regarding the team:
1) Ball holding. Don't just get rid of the ball when players are coming at you. Have some trickery, create some opportunity and help the team.
2) Too slow going forward, this team is playing in slow motion at the moment. No pace whatsoever.
3) Direct your headers. Don't just head it anywhere. Head it towards your team mate.
4) The art of being foul. Being too honest and stay on both legs unless broken is no way to play football.
No need to cheat, just make sure when you are fouled make the best of it to get a free kick. Trickery is an art. Get an Italian to teach the team.

Okay rant over.. Thanks.

ROY HODGSON is at breaking point after a damning assessment of his Liverpool team.

The Kop chief has confided in friends that they are SIX players short of challenging at the top of the Premier League.

Liverpool go into Sunday's game against Blackpool in the bottom three for the first time since 1984 and pals are concerned Hodgson will not be able to cope with the pressure of transforming the team.

They have noticed a change in Hodgson's usually relaxed manner and fear the pressure of turning Liverpool around is beginning to affect him.

Last season he appeared in complete control after guiding Fulham to the Europa League final and 12th placed in the Premier League.

Hodgson will not quit Liverpool, but fears that any potential new owners are likely to want their own man in charge at Anfield.

The Kop's desperate financial situation prevented Hodgson from making widespread changes to the squad in the summer and fear it's his reputation on the line.

After holding out for the England job following the World Cup, he eventually joined Liverpool when it became clear Fabio Capello would not be fired.

He was initially convinced he could tweak the squad and turn them into a top four team again after succeeding Rafa Benitez.

Instead his conservative methods in training and on the pitch have been met by a brickwall.

The culture at the club is playing attacking football, but Hodgson wants his team to play on the counter.

Hodgson's relationship with Fernando Torres is already strained and the World Cup winner has yet to respond to his new manager.

Impact

Liverpool will attempt to turn their season around at home to Blackpool on Sunday after a dreadful start.

They have won just once in the Premier League this season and Hodgson is struggling to make an impact.

Three of his signings - Paul Konchesky, Christian Poulsen and Raul Meireles - have yet to impress.

Hodgson has privately assessed the Liverpool squad and has conceded they are a long way short of Manchester United and Chelsea.

Many of his influential players are struggling to adapt to his training methods and want Hodgson to be more attack minded to satisfy supporters.

Hodgson has other changes in mind, but fears a backlash from supporters if he drops some of Liverpool's influential stars.

A close friend said: "We're worried about Roy, he's not the same person.

"Last year he thrived as the underdog, but he doesn't like criticism and doesn't enjoy people questioning his methods.

"It's too early to say he regrets taking the job, but it's dawning on him just how big it is. He's not a quitter, he's carry on."

I can see the smirk as you posted this.

Yeah its a mammoth task, but thats all the more reason to respect the guy. He has taken up the challenge, a challenge i add that other managers wouldnt take as the money wasnt there or the owners were bad. Hodgson has bottle, and class. Two things that are a staple of Liverpool FC. Yeah we desperately need to win today. But when we do, yes when, not if... then we can tuirn our season around

Lets all support the manager, the team, and get 3 big points today
