Robbie keane - [EDIT: On His Way Back to Spurs]

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I don't see how Berbatov has been WORSE than Keane. They have both scored 7 goals, while Berbatov has made more assists, while not missing the type of chances Keane has. Yes they are both under pressure to produce more, which is only to be expected when you pay stupid amounts of money for players who then struggle.

Sadly the fact that Berbatov or even Jo at Man city have proved to be unsuccessful hardly makes Keane value for money up to now.  Better to wait to the end of the season and see who has the goals and the medals before we decide who are the flops and who are the tops.

The one thing it does show ...... how fkn great is Torres  :D

Nothing to heavy - Bob took exception to me referring to some of the anti's as clowns and I apologise it was unnecessary and childish. However my comments were not directed at one individual as Bob suggests. Part of my post was in response to other posts from Bigmick and I can therefore see where the confusion arises - sorry again.

I will now try and show more respect to some of the regular long term posters and I trust they will do the same. Regardless of their views or what they write I suppose if nothing else they are entitled to their opinion.

As Bob say's - keep the forum to football and not people abuse. I will try and rise above it but on occasions it is difficult not to react to some of the posts on this forum.

LET'S FACE IT WE ALL WANT ONE THING - NUMBER 19 THIS YEAR !!!!!

Top stuff, mate. :nod

Neil, Mick was implicated in the comment but, to be honest, I'm sick of reading it in general.  There's far too much name calling, attempted wind-ups and "do you go the game?" comments on here.  This is a forum for football discussion and all of that nonsense gets in the way of good discussion.  I don't expect people to be saints (not even S@int) but I wish people would address the issues being discussed more and go looking for fights less.  It really is the way forward.

I agree what you said about Mick earlier. In the first two years around here I used to agree him more than disagree. In the last two years, I use to disagree Mick more often than I agree -- perhaps because he has focused more on methods and the manager -- but he's a good poster, normally respectful, and his opinion's are of his own, not some pundits' or google.

Devaney also shows class when apologizing there, but I'd like to add something, some good posters around here, pretty much like yourself Bob, have been called clowns, unrealistic, happy clappy, more fans of the manager than the team, and such. Their crime? defending the manager and trying to put their passion on posts, besides the opinion -- as fans they are.

That's something I'd also like to be remebered by everybody when harder times come, which will come sooner or later.
:)

Absolutely, mate.  It cuts both ways.  If you're here to chat football and not wind others up, then you should be free to voice your opinion without being called a clown, asked when was the last time you went to a game, etc. and that holds true whether you're on the "happy clappy" side of the fence or the "doom and gloom" side.  I don't mind passionate debate and vigorous disagreement at all but if the sole focus of a post is to abuse or ridicule a fellow member while offering no opinion on the topic at hand, you're not contributing to this place in the appropriate way and you will get called on it.

I honestly cant see why a lot of people are putting the boot into Keane so much.

Keane is a very good player, who we know can do the business in the Premier League.
He's just been off form for a few games missing sitters - but still, no need to panic.
HE WILL COME GOOD.

Im more concerned about player who are :censored: and play :censored: and there is no hope - Babel, Dossena.

Matt McQueen - Liverpool 1892-1928.
Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club

I don't think it really matters whether someone "goes the game " or not as long as what they post is good and sensible opinions on football. Bob always makes sense even though most of the time we probably disagree, I always respect his opinion and enjoy reading his posts. I certainly have no doubts about Bob being a true supporter, and a good poster, even though he is a bleeding heart, happy clappy, rose tinted specs wearing Canadian :D

Personally I see nothing wrong in saying that Ronaldo is a good player and one of the best in the world.....as long as you add the obligatory phrase for a cheating diving c*nt!
