Rafa's prophecy

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Was it prescience? Premonition? Or simply, coincidence?

As RB soaks in the glory and euphoria surrounding Liverpool FC's entry into the Champions League final - after 20 years - RB can also look back with pride on two statements he made before the semi-final game.

He had said: “What we learnt from the Carling Cup defeat is that against a team of their strength, we had to be as careful as possible in all areas as they only need one chance to beat you."

"There are teams which have players with a lot of quality that almost function on their own and there are others that don't have so much quality but work well together."

How appropriate?

Reports say that Gerrard is the only Liverpool player capable of finding a place in the Chelski team. Yet we pulled the carpet from under the feet of newly-crowned EPL kings Chelski with an early strike and sound defending.

RB also said: "In Basketball, example as the aim is to score 100points the best team usually gets the points and wins - but in football just one goal is enough. The important thing is to work hard and control everything, even the smallest detail."

How true?

One goal was what carried us into the final.

It does not matter whether we are going to play in the Champions League next season. It is because we are already creating history. A totally whole new era is erupting. And next season, we may not be playing in the Champions League but we will be crown the new English Premier League Champion. We have waited for 20years to reach this stage of the Champion league. What is another season?
