Race for Champs league spot

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Bad result for Spuds. They were lucky to get a draw in the end...and their next two league games are Manure and then us.

The top 4 could be wrapped up by early Feb if they fail to get a result from either of those.

Long way to go yet mate, everyone will drop points between now and the end of the season not just Spurs.
Teams like United and Arsenal are strengthening as well just as we are letting our best player go.

We need to stop dropping points ourselves though. Also we need to capitalise when our rivals falter.
That's the compelling factor.

Take care of our own results and the rest will take care of themselves. Which means, win the games that we are supposed to win.

Is this how we're going to finish top four, losing to Swansea??  the bottom team.
If we keep our "Jekyll and Hyde" performance going this season, we will struggle to finish top 6.

We desperately need a striker. A top drawer one, as we struggle to stick the ball in the net at times.

WTF is funny?

I'm deadly serious!

Your point what exactly?

We haven't learned anything from the past two seasons, we still can't put the lesser teams away.

If you've got no proper argument, the shut the fck up.

What's your point exactly? We're in the top 10 attacking teams in EUROPE and you say we need more goals?

And that's before your reaction to our first defeat in 20 odd games.  Get a grip lad

We have some excellent attacking talent in the likes of Mane, Salah, Firmino and to a lesser extent Lallana. That said, our 8 draws and that loss to Swansea show that we still have some issues that need to be addressed in attack. We rely on our counter attacking football and have no alternatives when sides sit deep and defend well. In most cases, the pressure will get to the defending side and all we need is a goal or 2 to open the game up. Defensively, we are nowhere near solid and we're yet to see whether the addition of Van Dijk will significantly change that. That only adds to the pressure on our forwards to score 2 or 3 a game to get the result.

In terms of quality, we have a top4 side at best.

Spurs so far 2 up vs mannure.

A draw would be a good result for us.

No chance. Maureen will have been gunning for a draw from this. His plan A, B, C, D and E are all out of the window  :D
