Race for Champs league spot

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

No reason we can't finish second but I do feel it'll be a case of what could have been. Should have beat Chelsea, should have beat Everton. In fact we should be comfortably ahead of Utd.

We'll make it difficult for ourselves but I reckon we'll finish in the top 4.

4th doesn't play a qualifier anymore either so no difference between 3rd and 4th now.

we're not even guaranteed fourth place yet, with Tottenham and Arsenal hot on our heels, it looks like it will go to the wire. 2nd-6th places are still up for grabs.

We have to remember that we need to keep winning matches to qualify

Games with City (5-0) and Spurs (4-1) in the coming weeks will be crucial...if we managed to come through the games with a handful of points then we are in good shape to challenge for top 2 or 3...if we get thumped again then we will have a lot of catching up to do. Losing Coutinho at this time is inopportune but if we managed a few marquee signings then it will bound to have a knock on effect and raised every players game. Seeing VVD arrival have made Lord Klavan and Lovren (seems to) raised their game is always a welcome sight

We'll be lucky to get diddly squat, if we draw another 8 games in the second half of the season. :(

Hammers held Spurs 1-1 which is a good result for us, 2 points dropped by spurs. Stunning goals.

2) Man Utd-47
3) Chelsea-46
4) Liverpool-44
5) Tottenham-41
6) Arsenal-39

Think Arsenal will fall away. This Sanchez stuff is a welcome distraction for us. Hopefully Chelsea keep dropping points and questions are constantly asked of Conte because I fancy Spurs to go on a run now

Yup Spurs have seemed to kicked back in gear recently and i can see them fighting till the end.
Arsenal won't make top 4 and will just crumble now imo.

Chelsea have looked a little iff recently and are not really firing upfront but with the quality they have they will stick around.

I'm hoping Sanchez doesn't sign for mannure because i want us to get that 2nd spot.

A win tomorrow will be a massive statement.

Spurs keep winning so are keeping the heat on us, but low and behold chelsea drop more points.
We need to capitalise, starting with a win over man city

Chelsea won comfortably and Mannure well their typical performance.
I'd crack up if the Sanchez deal doesn't happen but most likely it will be done by next week.

I wonder this season how many points will we need to get 4th.

We're finishing second mate, so let the other teams worry about 4th  :;):

Our rivals keep winning. :(

This is going right to the wire, I just know it. Final game of the season, like last year.

Spurs have dropped two points and if we win we can be 5 points ahead of them.
