i got to thinking yesterday about fowlers return and then thought about have any other liverpool players left the club and then returned at a later time.

i can only think of fowler, rush and staunton.

can anyone else think of any others? also any players from other clubs who left and then returned to them and were they a success

To be honest Fowler didn't even leave... he was kicked out of the club.

i'll always rememebr when sheringham left spurs saying he wanted to win stuff, then when he came back they gave him the captaincy... something we would never do.

back to liverpool tho and everyone can see what passion does for players. Fowler is already playing better now than he has in all his time at any other club

Can't think of any LFC players other than those mentioned that have returned to their previous club, but the generally it's quite hit and miss going back to an old club:

Barry Ferguson - Nowhere near as good 2nd time round at Rangers

Clinton Morrison - Doing ok since returning to Palace

Billy Dodds - Not great on returning to Dundee Utd after spell with Rangers

Lizarazu - Doing well back at Bayern after a brief spell in France

Paolo di Canio - Proving a hit back at his hometown team Lazio

Lee Clarke - No impact at all on returning to Newcastle

Graeme Le Saux - Probably better in his second spell for Chelsea than his first
