One of the best signings the premiership has seen.

Agreed, how could you sack a manager who's signed the best 'keeper and best centre back in the world?

I’m curious who is this best defender you are talking about. Agger? SPOT ON mate

Bitter b*stards.

I find it hilarious that Man U and Everton fans are obsessed enough to come on a Liverpool site in the build up to a game involving neither side.

I think a better term than "fans" would be "Liverpool haters masquerading as supporters of sh*t teams."

Having said all that, I suppose "Everton/Manure fan" is a lot quicker... :D

Back on topic, Reina is a fantastic player.

They say you're only as good as your record - well his record is better than anyone in the Premiership.

Speaks for itself, really.

Pepe is a great goalkeeper, but I think it would be unfair to make him wear gloves made of gold.

First of all, from a scientific perspective, they would simply be too heavy.

Secondly, it increases the chances of him being robbed.

Thirdly, the first two reasons should really be enough.

He's a great keeper. And not just for his clean sheets and penalty saves either.... If you have a look at his distribution, especially when he throws the ball out long and quick to launch a counter attack, it becomes apparent that his contribution goes beyond defensive duties. This aspect of his game has come more and more to the fore as his seasons with us roll on.

It is reminiscent of what Schmeical, who IMO is the best goalkeeper in the premiership ever, used to do (Hate to say it but credit is due to the Dane)

From time to time he does give me a case of the yips  ( :p ) when he charges out but overall he is a fine, fine keeper and we're lucky to have him. One of Rafa's more inspired purchases to be sure.

A;lthough the Interrrrrr wopdong has spouted s.hit, I'd agree with him that Reina isnt the best goalkeeper in the world, thats a big shout.

I think he is a good keeper, no more no less. I tend to think our defence flatter him slightly, and its typical of most fans on this forum to overate our players. Whuch is what some on here are g\doing with Pepe.

Still he is a good keeper.

i think describing him as a good keeper underestimates pepe nobody said he is the best but i definately say he was in the top 5 in the world

top keeper. Cant remember a better one to wear the l'pool shirt. Providing he stays in good form for another few years he'll overtake Clemence etc . We've had some good keepers over the years, but we've had some stinkers too.

not only is he a good keeper, my lass has just informed me he is a very good looking lad too and she wouldn't kick him out of bed for farting.  strange, she does when I do it. :p

Its arguable though as the kind of defence you have also plays a very important part.I still thinks Robert Green would give him a run for his money if he had a decent defence as ours.

The best keeper in England but not better than Casillas.
