Why else would they wear their hearts on their sleeves and post such strong comments?
It's always frustrating and demoralizing when the club you loved as a boy is in a crisis
I still believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions
What RBG is trying to say with this post,IMHO, is that differences in opinions are fine
But, let's keep the personal attacks down
Finding a middle ground is difficult, and I don't really feel like dissecting what is wrong with the club,
especially after a long run of losses and that gut wrenching defeat to Portsmouth as well
But the bottom line should be that whether Rafa should get sacked or not, whether the Yanks should F*ck off or not,
let's not make personal attacks and just stick to our views and opinions
People who agree will chip in with their discerning insights, and people who disagree will present the other side of the coin
That's what makes this forum great, people with differing views presenting their invaluable two cents worth,
while still having the same passion and love for the club burning in their hearts
Let's not degrade this forum to a mud slugging platform

Who are the mud sluggers?
Name names...?
???

If we all had the same opinions then this place would be very very boring with everybody responding to a topic with "Yeah I couldnt agree more"

Differences of opinion people can live with, it's idiots who start off replies with insults or derogatory remarks who make threads descend into something more expected of teenagers and younger

Nothing wrong with intelligently argued points, but intelligent people don't need to insult each other to make their points.

I dont think he does deserve the chance personally though mate.

He has had 5 years, and the last 3 have been trophyless.
This season has been shambolic so far.
We have lost 7 league games, 3 champions league games and also a carling cup game, thats 11 defeats already and we are not even at xmas.
Also its not just the defeats, its the manner of them, there is no leadership and we dont look like getting back into games once we concede.

If the people you speak to are still behind the manager fair play to them, but i just wonder what it would take for these people to think maybe we could and should be doing better.

His record number of defeats is 19 in his first season here, however we played 60 games that season and we may fall well short of that number of games this season.

the worrying thing for me is the fact that we still have loads of really awkward league games left.
United, arsenal, city and villa away.
chelsea, spurs and everton at home.

All tricky, and lets be honest any away game for us has proved problematic so far.

Never doubted you did, but the issue for me is with the owners not the manager ,it is completely  irrelevant to me until the owners are usurped from their position at the  Club , and in hindsight if I am completely honest ,I too should have had serious reservations when Gillette reached into his top pocket and produced money for the cameras ,it was a crass gesture and not a  statement of  intent ,as I then ridiculously believed it to be ..

I don't know maybe Im so angry because I allowed myself to be taken in by their promises ,maybe I am trying to make ammends for it now

I'm answering your post because you deserve and merit an answer because its an intelligent reply  ,but I will not be reciprocating in kind to any others posted this morning ,because I have no wish to be offensive, and sadly that's where its heading .....

On current form what represents a non-awkward game? We've stuffed Burnley, Stoke and Hull at home, but may struggle away against them. Everything else has proven "awkward", we've not scored more than one in any cup competition game this season and struggled to beat teams like Bolton and Wigan.

Have we any "easy" home games left? Wolves? (perhaps, they did win at WHL where we didn't) Perhaps Bolton and other sides, but we might have expected to beat some of the sides we've lost and drawn against at home this season

RBG, we are all p1ssed off with these owners, I hate them with a passion and I too believed all of the bullsh1t they spouted. I did have reservations but that was more down to the way the deal was done rather than what H&G were promising. It hurt when they dragged our name through tyhe mud when the conducted battles through the media and it hurts me everytime a potential buyer/investor falls by the wayside.

May I remind posters this is not a thread to discuss our  much maligned manager ,or the teams current predicament ,it was drafted with the specific purpose ,and that purpose was to discuss what can be done about the divide ,and how to lessen its impact on the forum  ???

In a way you are right but everyone is feeling the strain at present and debate can easily widen the subject discussion, after all most of these threads are linked by the common denominator, our form or lack of it.

I understand your concerns ,but if I wanted the thread to splinter into team matters or the fate of the manager ,I would have altered the title ,the fact I did not and expressly implemented specific intentions for the direction of the thread,  leaves any argument about our form dead in the proverbial water .
