In the reserves maybe. I bet he doesn't even get called up to the first team squad.

He already has been. :D

- Raheem Sterling
- Jonjo Shelvey
- Joe Allen
- Excellent defensive unit
- Best is still to come
- Massive opportunities for youngsters to break through

It really can only get better form how it is now, but we really need one of these young strikers to step up and be as confident and good as Raheem otherwise where in big trouble.

We have let in 7 goals in 3 matches ?!

So what positives do we have from today? ....I'll start off...............

4 games Zero wins.  At least we are consistent!.....
Also, the crowd were in good voice, it didn't rain, and we only conceded once.

That's it.

I thought we played well today. We were sloppy at times but we held possession well. We hit the woodwork and Shelvey could have scored at least 1. Without a recognised out and out striker I think we will see more days like today, but we are yet to see a fully fit Sahin and Assaidi so keep your knickers on.

All we lack is the cutting edge, someone to put the ball in the net.
It was a good display, not great, but certainly not sh'it. West Brom away, Man city home, Arsenal home and sunderland away are hard fixtures and weve got the skanks at home next week. A win against them would be possible and the way weve been playing makes it even better. Cant wait!

We are creating chances, but not taking them.

Teams that create chances eventually start converting them.

No arguments over Suarez's finish yesterday though he could hardly miss.

Sooner or later the conversion rate will improve.

It didn't really improve last season - in fact it went the opposite way

Suarez will eventually find his goalscoring form ,and the partnership between Shelvey and Allen should cement Jonjo's place in our midfield .
We could seriously wipe that smug grin of Taggarts face next week ,and he knows it . :nod

This was said throughout the entirity of last season, yet fast forward into the next season and the problem still remains. Things won't magically turn around unless we sign a clinical finisher. People mocked Arsenal for signing Lukas Podolski because his scoring record is not that great, yet he's gotten two goals in two games for Arsenal and I'd expect him to be amongst the top scorers in the league this season. Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov are looking like better prospects than any of our strikers at the moment.

Podolski is a hell of a player and right now a signing on his level is merely
the stuff of dreams for us.

Naturally we tend to over rate our own players out of loyalty but the reality
is we arent winning because we simply dont have enough top class players to get
the job done.

We look like what we are, a reasonable Europa outfit who can knock it about
all day long but cant land a killer punch with a bollock drop never far away.

In terms of optimism we have some decent young players and whilst Rogers
has been good in introducing some I would like to see even more given a shot
ahead of serial under achievers.

Despite odds against I still think we can do United next week as that would be
us all over, we should be hammered but knowing us we will win in style.
