Newkit lfc player standings award - Give them points

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Sabre » Sun Apr 01, 2007 11:00 pm

It's been a while since I want to do this. I'd like each of you give points to the players this way:

3 points to the best man of LFC, 2 points for the second best and 1 point to the third best.

I know the season is not starting but I want to test it for the next season.

You just must give points, not commenting someone elses points like "FFS, 3 points to Pennant? get a clue".

* You may add a little comment about  why you give the points to each player but it's optional.

* Every wednesday I'll lock the thread, and I'll count the points and make 2 standings, One for the match, and another one with the accumulated points. If there's a game in the middle of the week the thread will be locked for counting on tuesdays and fridays respectively.

* When you sum up many weeks you have a very decent idea of what's the performance of the players through out the season.

So, let's start this award, I hope you'll like the idea.

Liverpool - Arsenal

3 points --- > Crouch
2 points --->  Mascherano
1 point  ---> Fabio Aurelio.

3 Points Crouch (scored a hat trick, good distribution and hold up play)

2 Points Aurelio (best performance in a Liverpool shirt, 2 assists, attacking threat and defended well.)

1 Points Mascherano (regained possesion on several occasions, neat and tidy with possesion)

But yesterdays performance was one wear the whole team deserved a point, great team performance all round.

Crouch
Pennant

Also it would be interesting to keep a tally  of the last 5 games to see how each players recent form is.

No problemo, I'm counting everything with Microsoft Excel. It can be done.

3 - Crouch
2 - Pennant (and i'd never have thought i'd be praising him this time last week)
1 - Aurelio

Although both Mascharano and Arbeloa had games worth noting. (among the usuals of course)

1 Aurelio  Great perfomance, more of this and I could get my wish afterall.  (to see less of John Arnniee wheres ya money gone Riiise)

2 Crouch just edges out Mascherano purely just for scoring goals.

3 Mascherano  We have now got the perfect replacement for Didi Hamann.  Awesome and to think he couldnt get a game at West ham lol
