Crouch - By a mile his best game for the club, all 3 goals were brilliant and he did things that i did not realise he was capable of.

Aurellio - Also his best game for the club (although he played well against Chelsea at home as well) His crossing is superb, he was getting beyond the left winger -something we havent seen often from our full backs. And his defending was more  than decent as well.

Mascherano - Made tackles all over the pitch and used the ball well, he looked like he'd been at the club for years and completley bossed the midfield, looks like a masterstroke of a signing.

PLUS - Great team performance and great managemaent of team by Rafa. The yanks must be happy!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I'll second what most people have already said:

1) Crouch (a guy who scores a hattrick against Arsenal has done his job more than well!)
2) Aurelio (you can't overlook Crouch's three goals, but Aurelio was still very close to pipping him to the MoTM IMHO due to an immense performance on the left side - both defensively and most notably offensively)
3) Mascherano (looked very assured and fights and passes very well indeed... good times ahead!)

Since there's a game today and points will be given for the PSV game, the thread will be locked today for counting at 19.00 PM UK time, then reopened tomorrow with the standings and so that we give points for the next game.

Right, instead of locking, I'll use a post as a mark. Post the PSV games points after this post.

I'll edit this post to put the first standings. Won't be a very interesting the first round, but normally there's more variety of opinions and it gets interesting..

Thank you for your votes. :)

3- Mascherano (Great first game for the monster in Europe)
2- Gerrard (Was at the centre of most things when going forward)
1- Finnan (Solid defence, did well in bombing forward to provide those 2 crosses)
