Btw how much have they raked in over the years?
You stand still in football and you go backwards.

“Raked in” ? Only thing they have raked in is a director wage

They don’t take out profits or dividends

And you want loans to be taken out - so in the future we lose income because we are paying off loans ?

Who says we are “standing” still ?

They are sitting on £2 billion plus with a 'B' in equity, when they choose to sell up they will make a staggering and I mean staggering amount of money out of LFC. One Billion in seconds equates to about 32 years, if you earn £45k a year which is a very good wage in the UK it would take you 22,000 years to earn a billion, if you stack a billion pennies on top of each other the tower would be 870 miles high, that's just one billion.
They are telling everyone to tighten their belts while we've watched our rivals catch up to us and indeed over take us while they sit on a massive massive future windfall.

“Sitting on £2bn” - it’s irrelevant what the club is worth - do you think that means there is more money available to spend

What if they have no intention of selling and cashing in - it was reported they turned down £3bn

What the club js “worth” doesn’t mean the income is suddenly increased to match the worth

In the last accounts we made a loss of £40mil

We had to take out a credit line with a bank for £200mil to pay the bills through the closure of the sport

And instead of using loans etc we have decided to pay off that credit loan - plus the club still have the loan for the main road stand to pay off

You make it sound so easy to just grab some money and spend it

***** we are not skint, Arsenal outspent us by 100 million, and they have had no CL and not won the league.

So what your saying is we can only afford net + 12 million a season?

Well lets hope none of the remaining front 3 get injured or we will be needing our keeper to score last minute headers to sneak into the CL.

Looking at how Sadio (after a good pre season where he looked sharp) regressed back into the form of last season against Chelsea if Mo gets injured we'll be screwed.

The club made a loss of £40mil last accounts -it’s not a case of being skint but cash flow will be restricted because of the drop income - have you read the latest accounts ?

Arsenal will be spending money borrowed from credit lines given to them by the bank

They are also a club that took out the government loan during Covid

There are better more qualified people in position in the club making informed decisions - they aren’t going - what we will do is ***** off people on social media and not spend money

While I agree with you about not borrowing to buy players and staying within our means, I do think that the losses last year because of COVID are a one off and I would have been ok with giving Klopp 100 million to refresh the side and taking a loan to do it. I would not want to do it regularly and I am happy with the club’s business model but last year was an anomaly and we are so close to being a great side, the owners should have taken the risk…. Which in turn would generate more income through sponsorship and shirt sales. There is a business angle to refreshing the side at this point that would add value to the team long term. Carrying  a loss because of a freak act of God is not a good enough excuse to not improve the team at this pivotal moment.

If this was a one off then id accept it.

This is the same as last season, when we all knew we needed a center back. FSG refused blamed covid and look what happened. Within 6 months we lost both center backs Joel got injured which we all knew would happen and we blew the league playing hendo at CB.

Every single one of the teams we will fighting top 4 with have spent big and strengthened while we have stood still.

Is there not a chance that Klopp and Edwards don’t see the need to spend £100mil to refresh the squad ?

We know they are very thorough and really only spend wisely and when needed as well as being the right player for them - the club aren’t going to spend to satisfy people all over social media

We bought Thiago , Kostas and Jota last summer ?

Do you think signing 1 CB would have made a blind bit of difference when we lost 3 to season ending injuries plus multiple midfielders and plus Jota

Are you talking about the January window when we didn't have a VVD replacement lined up and ended up scrambling around in the bargain basement at the last minute when Joel got injured as well? To be fair to them they probably had their hands full getting ready for the launch of their ESL project at that point. Why bother worrying about the premier league when you are planning to turn it into an irrelevant sideshow?

It's been a depressing window once again. We are not strong enough as a squad and 1 or 2 big injuries and we are screwed again. Not only that.. all our rivals have improved so it'll be even harder than last season.

We struggled to score goals in big games last season.. we looked lost and had no plan b to teams parking the bus. We needed a lift this transfer window, something to get excited about.. and we've once again been let down.

We have become predictable as a team.

Our owners aren't here to win the premier league, they've already shown they are not interested in it by trying to turn it into an irrelevance, they are clearly here because they want to resurrect that ESL thing. They already told us flat out that their profit is more important than anything including the good of the game. Got to admire them for their honesty I suppose. Doesn't mean we have to want them as owners though.

I would take a Mansour or Abramovich ahead of FSG any day.  :nod
