Yeah to be fair to him he's done a good job that Edwards, Jurgen seemed to like working with him as well. Hope him leaving doesn't upset the Apple cart in any way.

O the PR is already on the spin, "we signed Hendo to a new contract" announced on deadline day?

What are we 1m off net spend zero? Odds are FSG get that back by the end of the day

Quick question to those complaining about the owners

How would you like owners to work ?

Spend within their means ?

Spend beyond the club means adding on debt

Take out loans to buy players

Or just go the City route and have the owner pay for the players via de facto sponsership from his state ?

I don’t know why people are surprised about low net spend when we are a club that works to a self sustaining model relying on income which has clearly taken a bit over the last 18 months ?

So which financial model do people prefer

City - rich oil Sheik
Utd - leveraged debt
Spurs - loan money

How about they throw some of their own money in? They bought the club for a song and could sell it tomorrow for 2 billion plus, they wouldn't be out of pocket even if they spent a billion on the team, they could sell it the next day and still walk away with a billion profit.

So like City and Chelsea then

Using their own money to buy players ?

So how often would that be expected then ?

We spent years accusing City etc of buying the league and trophies

Yet we want our owners to do the same

No one would expect them to do it to the extent City and Chelsea's owners do it because they clearly aren't as wealthy but I'm sure they could afford to loosen the purse strings a little. We are the second biggest club in this country and play in the wealthiest league in the world but we spend like a mid table club.

We have spent £550mil on players since Klopp arrived.  £1bn since FSG bought the club

Saying things like “biggest” doesn’t really mean there are bundles of cash about

Just look at the finances and see how much money we give to the players ?

And the owners themselves aren’t “cash rich” and have a pot of money sat their waiting to be spent on players

FSG has asset value - same with the club , assets

For FSG to start to give £50mil or £60mil for players they would then need to borrow the money - it’s that the cycle we want to start to go down ?

People need to get past this idea that FSG the company have cash reserves ready for us to dip into so that the club can buy Carlos kickaball for £40-50mil

When they took us over there was one promise to the fans groups and fans - the club will spend within it’s means -  no loans for players , no leveraged debt , no John Henry buying a player from his current account. They would build up the club commercially to allow more money to be available to be spent - and we all applauded that and embraced because that’s how we wanted the club to be run

So what’s changed ?

Take out loans then, businesses do that all the time, they have 2 billion plus in equity sitting there.
Btw how much have they raked in over the years?
You stand still in football and you go backwards.

“Raked in” ? Only thing they have raked in is a director wage

They don’t take out profits or dividends

And you want loans to be taken out - so in the future we lose income because we are paying off loans ?

Who says we are “standing” still ?
