Such an Americany expression!
He's a jerk, period

Feck it I'd take him back only because he may be our only feasible option, but I'd tell him to feck off if his wage demands were excessive.

Do you really believe all our player would stay because of their love for Liverpool if they were offered a shedfull of money elsewhere? Players are ambitious and look to win trophies, fill their pockets and have a great lifestyle of fame and fortune. Owen left to further his career, for whatever reason things didn't work out, and he wanted to come back. Have you never made a mistake?
My worries about Owen are if he is still good enough and fit enough, not about who's feelings got hurt when he left. Keegan left the best team in Europe, Rush the best team in England, what did Owen leave, a team that had struggled to qualify for the CL. A new manager not known for his affability with its star player only deciding to stay at the last minute.

Me, for one.
I didn't want Owen back then and I still don't want him back now.
Owen always stated from the get go that he wanted to play abroad. Fair enough. But to leave at such a crucial point (Rafa was just coming in, similar to the way Big Sam has come in to Newcastle, but he hasn't exactly got a squeeky ar$e now has he? No, 'cause he's sitting on a fat weekly sum and a guarantee of England football should he stay fit. At least Henry gave Arsenal his best years and loved every minute of it) was to mearly sh!t on the club from a great height.
Loyalty to me means more than ability - think of the players who have played for us in the past who have maybe lacked ability but shown a willingness to die for the cause? Tommy Smith is the most in the memory at the moment, given his recent troubles.
You give me a lad who'll put his boot in where it hurts 100% and i'll take him every time - i'll certainly take him over the lad who'll have more ability, but will sh!t out of a tackle/hurdle.
Fotballing sense my ar$e, if you're heart isn't in it, you'll get nowhere. That's what seperates the likes of Henry from Anelka.

You've missed me point there mate.
I certainly don't expect every player to say he supports Liverpool - Carra is a blue, so to me it really doesn't matter. I agree that, if Owen signed, he would perform and probably score goals - but as the saying goes - when the going gets tough, the tough gets going? Owen doesn't fancy a lowly league game against Derby - much rather playing against France or Germany in a big Euro game for my liking.
All c0ck and no balls, as the saying goes.
