Unfortunately he falls into a gap where he doesnt have the flair of a typical Brazilian so we forgive him and doesnt have the steel of a northern european player.  He can influence a game but Im afraid only on his terms, he doesnt grab a game and although I was hopeful it looks more and more like he shouldnt be in the squad

Lucas did what Lucas does last night. Wasn't bad, wasn't good, he was just Lucas. The fact everyone else was so staggeringly awful means he was possibly man of the match.

I actually dont think he was as bad last night as some are making out.
He definately isnt anywhere near as good as the hype we believed before we signed him though.
Last night if he had played with Alonso all game we may have been in the game more. It was a really poor central midfield combination.
Lucas though won his headers alot of the time and was winning 50-50's, his distribution was still poor but i think he was one of our better players and doesnt deserve to be criticised anywhere near as much as the likes of Degen. Dossena Cavalieri and even Babel, who showed bursts but still just sulks and looks disinterested if things start going wrong.

Agreed.  Babel was woeful last night apart from the two corners.

He's certainly a lot better than Plessis. Everytime Plessis gets the ball you would have thought it was a handgrenade.

Agreed, as I said yesterday, he was ok, but not good enough.

Said it before , saying it again - we WILL sell ( and the sooner the better)

Lucas, Dossena, Babel,

add to that list:

Ngog, Plessis, el Zhar- never ever in a million years Livepool /top 4 players..

Look at Campbell last night - that's the type of youngsters we need ..take their chance and show what they're made of  not "take time to develop" basic football skills and intelligence in their late teens, early twenties!!

Isn't it strange that so many people missed his obvious class last night  ???  ???
BTW I'm kidding, the lad is garbage, he doesn't get me excited by his play in the same way as Gerrard, Keane, Torres, Babel, Riera, Alonso, Mascha even Kuyt on rare occasions do. That is how I judge a player. If I don't notice them in a match, except for CB's and goalie, then I consider they've had a bad match, so last night I didn't really notice anybody  :sleep

Well you're not really suppose to notice such players on the pitch.  Their job is to keep the team ticking and Lucas would have done that if his teammates around him did their job.  I don't really notice Fabregas when I watch Arsenal, so does that mean he's garbage as well?

i thought Lucas and Plessis were an absolute disgrace last night, both of them blatantly hiding from the action. How to two center mids can barely touch the ball night is beyond me. Plessis is to scared to do anything other than play it safe, same with Lucas, both have zero goal threat. The only positive from Lucas was that he got stuck in.

Very disapointing from a player who won south american player of the year not long ago, he must have talent somwhere but the guys to scared about making a mistake to actually try something than a 5 yard pass

I guess we must watch different things when we watch a match, I always notice good play even a defensive midfielder like Mascha who gets stuck in and helps out the defence.
Why would Lucas be more invisible than a DM?

and btw if you don't notice Fabregas then all I can say is thank feck you aren't in the Liverpool defence, although you'd probably be better than Dossena  :D

Didi wasn't unnoticed by me, he was an excellent DM player, how dare you trying to compare Lucas to him!  :no
