so what do we do with him? do we loan him out or do we stick him in the reserves week in, week out? i think that if we sell him and he gets regular football with someone then he might just turn into that player we have seen tiny glimpses of and we'll wish we still had him in the squad.

it wasn't sly, it couldn't have been more clearer if i drew a picture, but the fact is thy both have the same attributes so why is one rubbish and one is the new pele?

who says anyone is the new pele and why drag up kuyt again on athread where we are discussing Lucas ? starting to get a bit obsessed about him .

He (I assume its Kuyt) doesnt get any worship, but he does get credit where and when its due rather than simply calling the lad cack.

Where does Lucas fit in a midfield that SHOULD include BABEL, MASCH, GERRARD, ALONSO and REIRA. For me, this five players should be first choice depending on availability. Next in line would be Kuyt, then Lucas, and finally Benayoun. I can understand taking Gerrard off yesterday evening but why bring on Benayoun who like Kuyt and Lucas has very poor ball control. Gerrard after the game made point that they failed to keep possession in second half - i presume he means both when he was on and after he came off. Well, any team with Kuyt/Benni/Lucas as their midfield will give away possession - PERIOD. They lack the touch, skill and vision that Alonso, Gerrard and Reira (so far) have. For me, when winning 2-1 away from home, possession is vital. Keep the ball away from home team, they will get frustrated, crowd get on home team's back - this for me is simple tactics - Rafa got it wrong by. In the last 20 mins, Masch spent the whole time chasing after shadows unable to get a foot on the ball simply because his teammates could not keep possession. Also was Agger on the subs bench - i feel he could have added a bit of stability to the defense that played well but a lot of OM chances were down to simply given possession away too cheaply

I'm still prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt (only cause he is supposedly Brazilian and young). I do think Benitez plays him fairly regular, regular enough that if you have gud qwaality (Benitez pronunciation) you should flourish, if he doesn't flourish he doesn't have enough qwaality.
While I'm at the Benitez impersonations, is any one bored with the same old Benitez interviews. We had a gud qwaality, gud mentality, we controwl the game, good posseshon, cweate lotsh of chances........ the same old bloody pap in every interview, I'm starting to think he needs a good pint of banks's beer and a personality transplant.
That said in Rafa we trust (sort of)

i give him credit on the odd occasion he deserves it, read the threads properly rather than just look for posts you can snipe at.
as for jim beglin, do you really think people can not form their own opinions? to be fair to the posters in here, lucas was poor last night and has generally been poor when he has played.
