Decent first half. We were excellent in the first 25 mins and deserved the lead, cracking FK by Alonso, absolutely outstanding. However we looked a bit nervy after that and Sunderland were probably the better side for the last 20 minutes of the half.

Warnock has looked good down the left hand side, as has Finnan on the right. Cisse is clearly unhappy on the right wing and moved into a more central attacking role as the half went on with Zenden switching to the right wing and Gerrard moving a little wider left.

Morientes has been very quiet, and I would probably bring Baros or Garcia on in the second half. Riise could also come on and play on the left Is suppose as Warnock and Finnan are giving us the most width out of anyone (Zenden was looking quite good down the left but has since switched to the right as I mentioned).

Still plenty of work to be done, c’mon Reds!

Sissoko---use you brain to think, not your feet!
Moro----stay at the front, don't come back so often!
Zenden-----cross the ball, forget your silly tricks!
Cisse-----stay on the right wing and cross the ball!

...so disappointed

:(  We should be 8-0 up now, why oh why is cisse on the wing, Stubbs is not the quickest defenders in the prem, and barry knight is the sh*tties ref in the prem,
superb goal by xabi and sammis new hair colour is well dodgy :glare:

sissoko has to be careful now.. he's been a bit too "keen" and already is booked.

what about bring garcia on the right, shift cisse up with nando dropping off him. take sissoko off. and drop stevie back in the mix?

He clearly isn't suited to playing their mate, and Zenden has moved out their for this reason.

I'd take Moro off for Milan, and bring Riise on for Cisse, playing like this.

                Reina

Finnan    Hyppia  Carra      Warnock

                   Momo    Xabi
Zenden                                        Riise

                         Gerrard

                     Baros

i'm hoping there's no repeat of last season performance of uninterested players on the field.seems like we can't control the game for the last 20 mins or so after Alonso free kick.

come on reds, gives us more goals in the second half !!

It's called tracking back, most strikers do that in the Premiership.

We certainly took our foot off the pedal after the goal and should have been 2-0, how Cisse missed that one that went across the goal

Hopefully a Rafa half time speech will have us firing again after the break
