Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Average performance, but 3 points is 3 points so happy with the result. Cisse's goal that was disallowed should of counted and the sending off of Welsh was absolutely ridiculous.

Xabi Alonso was MOM for me, he broke up up a lot of Sundelrnads attacks along with Momo and he more or less controlled the game in midfield with his excellent distribrution, not to mention his FK which turned out to be the winner.

The back 4 did pretty well , particularly Sami and Warnock and Cisse looked a lot better in the second half. No sure why Rafa took Stevie off, perhaps he took a knock but Garcia didn't look fantastic on the right when he came on, we desperately need an out and out right winger.

Still, good result but plenty of room for improvement. :)

we didn't control the game much and wasted the chances to score more goals and i felt it wasn't a convincing performance.i believe Rafa will look into the areas which needs to improve.anyways,we've grab all 3 important points.

best players :

warnock
sissoko
alonso

worst players :

morientes
zenden
cisse

Hyppia was pretty strong, he won all the aerial battles and made a lot of good saving tackles, as did Warnock. What game were you watching?

Warnock was solid bar that clearance attempt he hit to softly and one or two times where he let a man get behind him.

Worst for me would be Cisse, Moro and Zenden

Didn't see the game myself, but 3 points and another clean sheet...you have to be satisfied enough with that.

People will moan that we've only got 1 goal in 2 games, but in actual fact LFC is 7 games into the season, not 2 like most other teams, we have scored plenty of goals in the 5 CL qualifiers, so I'm not worried about that.

Ok Cisse missed a lot of chances today apparently, but let's be honest, he's always been a bit erratic when it comes to finishing, not the finished article yet as a player.  As long as he's getting into goalscoring positions like he is then thats good enough for this stage of the season, he'll get better as the season goes on.

Just watch the media tomorrow saying that we lacked drive when Gerrard came off and that we can't finish teams off.  It's so fu.cking predictable, but the league is a marathon, not a sprint.  If we crush Spurs away in our next league game then we'll be title contenders according to the media.  Don't fall into the trap of having a knee-jerk reaction to everything just like the media does

Why?!?

Spurs have won their first 2 games in convicing style and have an excellent squad at their disposal. They could well be close to us in temrs of points come the end of the season.

Spurs have a decent squad, but much ike Newcastle they have far too many egos.

Robbie Keane huffs when he's left out, Mido is a moody git, Davids is bound to spit the dummy at some point.  They have about 10 centre-mids FFS, they're never going to keep them all happy.

Spurs might get into the Uefa at best, but I'd say we'll beat them by a fair few points in the end.  In fact I think we'll beat them at White Hart in our next game
