I was glad you seemed to settle for 2-1, it looked for a while like you had a chance of the draw.

The referee also missed an obvious penalty when Djimi Thuram shoulder charged your player (Del Piero?) off the ball in the box. More blatant than Makelele on Gerrard I thought, but let's not talk about that.

and that 'offside' goal:oh:


we are experts at away legs people...just ask Bayen leverkusen and ROMA!  bring it on...semi finals, HERE WE COME!

It wasn't offside, but it was difficult to tell for the linesman.

I'm not convinced about the penalty. I would have loved it but I would be quite angry if a similar one would be given against us in any match.


I give LFC lots of credit, but we are no Roma or Leverkusen....

To be fair, the linesman over the other side was useless, keep making mind boggling decisions.

However, if that Del Piero's "goal" was played onside by the linesman, Scott would probably clobber him before he's able to head it

well considering we are the most successfull team in the country which is the home of football - and have four european cups and three uefa cups to boot.........i think its safe to say we aint no roma or leverkusen ourselves mate.

Troare had a very competent game.

Who would have thought that Troare would have held his own against one of the best teams in the world?

He certainly an immensely improved player this year and I would now say he's a decent Premiership player but there's not one Liverpool fan out there who'd trust Traore to save their life. He's a bit like an out field Bruce Grobellaar.

The offside given against Del Pierro was wrong but Juve fans cannot really claim it was a "goal". Both Carragher and Carson stopped as soon as they heard the whistle. Carson made a half hearted attempt to reach for the ball and Carragher was already walking away from the scene.

I wasn't at the game but I could clearly hear on the tv that some Juve fans booed during the minute silence and also booed during the opening rendition of You Never Walk Alone.

I understand that some of them are still angry, I mean if I had lost family I would be very reluctant to forgive and forget no matter what LFC did - I fear for our fans in Turin I really do.

But it's a good result. I really liked my team in the second half.
Being without any match for such a long time didn't advantage us, it's difficult to finf the right rhythm.
We didn't play the first 30 minutes. Then we had some chances to score with no luck. But if we look at the match, only Liverpool played in the first half hour. We weren't aggressive at all, we weren't convinced. At it's clear that if you let the Reds play at their pace, then they're very dangerous. The first goal was a nice play by them, the second one was a stunning shot.
Capello explains Pessotto'e entrance in the game: "Pessotto plays the ball faster and who is able to free up Zambrotta for some offense game. And I have to say that I really liked the team in the second half. I repeat: we started the match in the wrong way (my comment: no sh!t)".

apparently the juve fans turned there back on the supporters who brought a flag of peace up to th annie rd end before the game, slightly worrying for the second leg

I know. I was impressed by LFC in the first half hour, but I never thought it would have been easy.

But if we play the same way we played against Real Madrid in the 2nd leg, then I'm pretty confident.

But if you go through, then you'll have all my support against Chelsea (if they go through). I can't stand them and they didn't deserve to advance against Barca.

This is a wider picture and here you can see that these fans are Juventus "Ultras". I hope UEFA see this picture and grow some balls because they need to do the very best they can to protect our fans overthere and prevent any incidents that might occur because it does not look good for those who are going.

I can sense that tomorrow's paper will all be talking about Juve's away goal and how well they played tonight and downplay this magnificent result by us tonight.

Anyway, here's hoping the media darling Chelsea get pounded by Bayern tomorrow...
