This is what Sport.es says it might be their line up. No MEssi, as they'd use him if things need some revolution and Giuly will make the pitch wider.

I think it's a great yet vulnerable team.

That team is there to be got at, hardly any protection for the back 3 and its obvious what Rijkaard's intentions are...the same as against Zaragoza last week, early goals.

If Messi doesnt start i will be stunned....and made up. Giuly is still quality but Messi is on a different level altogether.

Sport always get it wrong, so I would expect Messi to start and Zambrotta.

Indeed. Txiki Begiristain, their sport manager's (the guy who make the signings) has said that's precisely the point, score quick in the game.

But that proposal has LOTS of risks IMHO, especially when you play a tougher team than Zaragoza defending. We are very good in the ball recovery duties, which is NOT being defensive, just doing the defensive stuff right. Football is also about not receiving goals, some people forget about that!

Shankly quickly siezed upon the advantage that the packed, noisy stadium would provide. Asking the Italians to take to the field, he held his own squad behind. The reception Milan received was unnerving and they remembered Shankly's warning that they would encounter supporters the likes of whom they had never seen before.

Racing to the Kop end for the pre-match kick-about, they were so frightened by the roaring, swaying masses behind the goal that they immediately turned on their heels and sprinted towards the opposite Anfield Rd goal. The 'welcome' there proved to be just as hostile. A few minutes later the second psychological battle was won as Liverpool took to the field amidst an explosion of sound which, it is said, could be heard several miles away from Anfield.

I see Rijkaard's mind games have already started in his press conference yesterday. He's trying to drag up memories of their clash with Chelsea. Didn't Mourinho read out the Barca team or something like that in a press conference before the game? Here he is before our game claiming that he thinks we think we know what his team's going to be. Rijkaard is under pressure, and it looks like he's done a bit of a Keegan there. Be interesting to see if he tries to prove Rafa wrong by not picking that team now.

Also, I said this a few years ago but then changed my mind because he won me over a bit, but now I'm back thinking what I originally did:

Carlos Puyol is just a Spanish Gary Neville in a stupid curly wig. He's an absolute tw@t.

Nobody has come to Anfield and played with the Dream Team formation before, so God knows what will happen.  We could get thrashed or we could be like a whirlwind and score 3 in a blink of an eye.

I still don't fancy our chances but I will tell you one thing.

I listened to Rijkaard on the radio while coming into work and I have to say that for once I am going to just enjoy the game whatever happens. Frank says we are just going to go out and play, "We have nothing to lose" he said. Apart from our European crown....

It would be nice if we did ourselves justice. If we have to go out, let us remind people what we stand for and let us play the beautiful game as it should be played!

I disagree with Sabre but I know what he means, but for me it is how you play and the style that you play with rather than the result.

P.S. What have you got against Puyol?  Liking him to Gary Neville is a little harsh.

TBH I respect him.

Did he say anything wrong and I missed it?

Thats the stuff!

Im getting very nervous now, off today so just counting down the hours to kick of. The first goal tonight is so so important if we get it then we are more or less through but if they get it its game on.

Im going to go with a 1-1 draw with us scoring first and getting an onslaught in the second half but comfortably holding out
