Am pleased to say I was completely wrong about this guy. Came with a big price tag and high expectations, which affected his form and mental state quite a bit.  However, he's buckled down and worked hard to make himself a regular.  :bowdown

We missed a trick not signing Schneiderlin and Wanyama instead of Lallana who wasn't really needed

Doesn't that say something about the lack of genuine quality we have rather than how good Henderson is?

Henderson done alright last season, but he doesn't control games and certainly doesn't dominate midfield battles on a regular basis. Good squad player yes, all day, should be looking for better? Of course

Are we missing a quality DM? Undoubtably, Gerrard is awful at protecting the back 4 but I don't see what that has to do with Lallana, if anything it's Can who should come under scrutiny, he has tons of potential but maybe as you say given Gerrard's age and defensive weakness we needed to bring in someone who is more of the complete package as opposed to potential.
Incidently Lallana has been our best player up to this point, strange that you should single him out given we signed 8 or 9 players this summer.

The lad is a good player, one I have liked for years, the fact is though, we didn't need him and he doesn't have enough quality to dramatically improve our team. His best position is where Coutinho plays, he's not better or more suited to our system than him

He is at the moment, Coutinho hasn't got out out of the blocks at all this season which is surprising given his performances in pre season (especially against Dortmund). Besides Lallana is versatile, he's the type of player that can play anywhere so that role behind the striker may be his best position but it's not his only position, as I said he's looking like our best buy ATM so I don't know why you've got a downer on him.

Not the right player for us. So slow and dull. Reminds me of a teachers pet. Just wants to do everything right in his own book with little regard for others. I'm not saying he's selfish, but he's not great at anyone thing, other than his "engine". Not nearly expansive enough to be anything other than a DM and lacks the attributes for that.
