joe had a decent game apart from the miss, it was him and hendo that stopped the likes of barkley and merielles over running us.
as soon as he went off our back 4 became very exposed and everton started getting chance after chance, god knows how many times they outnumbered our defenders on the break.

I thought Joe had a great game apart from a  simple opportunity he had to make it 1-3 ,stopped the Bitterz from making the midfield their own.
In fact him and Lucas were probably our best defensive players on the pitch.

Allen, Hendo and Lucas should be shown the door and replace asap, there awful the lot of them. Absolutely no quality between them, yea they run around a lot but who gives a dam at the end of the day if they can do nothing when they have possession? We need drastic changes in central midfield, its by far the weakest area of the team

In a game where we conceded 3 and not for our GK heroics we could have pulled a couple more i wouldn't say Joe and Lucas were even close to "Best". Simone and Flanagen where the better defenders today. Joe was not noticed at all apart from his shocking choking moment.

i`m fed up of watching opposition players just outrun our CM`s and leave them floundering in their wake. barkley did it countless times today.
before his injury lucas was one of the best CM`s in the country but that cruciate injury has deffo took a yard of pace from his game, and to be fair he was never the quickest anyway so it`s not like he could afford to lose that yard.
gerrard is the best liverpool player i`ve ever seen bar none but he is near the end of the road now, infact if bob paisley was still manager he`d probably playing for another club now, bob shifted loads of club legends out like ray clemence, ian callaghan, emlyn hughes, tommy smith, terry mcdermott, jimmy case etc etc etc. he wasnt sentimental at all bob but thats why he won so much, he was a master of knowing when to move a player on and more importantly he was a master at knowing how to replace them.
if we put together a really good midfield behind that strike force of ours anything is possible but if we dont do anything in january we will fall short, we just arent good enough against the top sides and 1 point from 6 against arsenal and everton shows that.

It's Mirallas. You make that typo in every post you make and it keeps reminding me of our former Portugese international we once had in midfield, whom I happen to think is better than most of what we have at the moment  :(

sorry mate!
btw i`d rather have the likes of aquilani and meirelles (the portugese one) in our midfield now than what we currently have. they seemed second rate at the time but that was when we`d just watched 5 years of alonso, mascherano and a prime steven gerrard.

No worries. He was just a player I really liked :D
Meireles was sold far too soon. He, along with Maxi, were always among the goals.
We could really do with a few goal-scoring midfielders and wingers.

to be fair i dont think the club wanted meireles to go but i seem to remember he had a cob on over not getting a pay rise that he said he was promised or something.

However much it was, it couldn't have been more than what Cole got for doing nothing. You know, I was very harsh on Allen in the match thread but he actually played very well today doing the dirty work that went unnoticed. It was his miss that simply destroyed all his hard work prior to that. I genuinely hope he picks himself up and that the M'Villa rumors are not true.

I actually thought that Allen had a pretty anonymous game up until his miss. Lucas and partly Henderson were the ones that did the dirty work. Lucas had a pretty good game IMO, despite his silly fouls. All I remember from Allen are a few sideways passes and getting bullied of the ball a few times. And the miss that costed us the game of course.

I said that I want Allen to be given a chance and now I wish he never wears our jersey again. He had his chance and he blew it. When we need another midfielder I want the chance to be given to Alberto. At least he can pass forwards.

Jesus christ, give the sly Gerrard digs a rest. He was one of our best players yesterday.
