I've got Rooneys cousin in the pub and he's adamant that he's spoken to the bike robber today and The Munster said that after speaking to Benitez and the reaction of his family and mates Gerrard has agreed to one more season "to see if it works out" with the new manager.

Don't know whether to believe any of the above, but I want to.

It's so unusual for a club manager to travel to an international  competition to talk to his players that something was clearly amiss. Add that to the consistent and fact-like reporting of the press and the absolute silence from Stevie and it remains ominous.

The Stevie rumours are strange: some newspapers have run the story while others, such as The Scum, haven't touched it at all.

There has to be something in it but one view on it is that certain journalists reckon the story is fiction and won't run it.

I still don't know either way, to be honest, and I doubt we'll get to the bottom of it while Stevie is in Portugal.

However, the sh1t will hit the fan when he returns.

One good thing is that Porto have announed that Real Madrid are entering the race for Deco. Hopefully that will keep Kenyon occupied and buy us some more time to convince Gerrard to stay.

It's still rumoured that Clint Eastwood really is the son of Stan Laurel,but most of the tabloids won't run with it because it's old news and they are waiting for Rooney to sign for Chelsea before they divulge anymore Hollywood gossip stories.
