New Lyon boss Gerard Houllier is planning talks with Liverpool striker Milan Baros.

Houllier is considering the possibility of reviving his working relationship with Baros, whose Anfield future is unclear.

Baros was brought to Liverpool from Banik Ostrava in December 2001 by Houllier and was one of the Frenchman's best signings.

The duo could now be reunited at Lyon, with Baros having admitted he would be tempted by the prospect of working with Houllier again.

Valencia had been favourites for Baros' signature but Houllier is hoping to use his links with Baros to persuade the Czech Republic ace to join the French champions.

Houllier will be in Czech Republic this weekend to watch Baros in the 2006 World Cup qualifier against Andorra.

Reports suggest Houllier will use the match as a means of meeting up with Baros to discuss the potential for a switch to Stade Gerland.

Meanwhile, Houllier has already let one member of his Lyon squad go after goalkeeper Nicolas Puydebois signed a three-year contract with Strasbourg.

Puydebois has been the understudy to Gregory Coupet at Lyon and has headed for Strasbourg in search of regular first-team football.
