Lots of love to you and your family.

Thanks for posting on the forum and a big welcome, these wonderful, caring, funny people were Phil's life line through months of uncertainty, hopefully if you stay around you will get to know them too.
Only school friend I know is Phil Talbot, but as Phil's parents lived at both ends of the Potteries sure there must be many people who had the honour off knowing Phil but are not aware of his passing.
It seems you were a close friend and your description of Phil was spot on and I took great comfort from your posts.

Thankyou and YWNA

RIP drummerphil and condolences to all your family.

This thread is a fantastic testament to the spirit and loyalty of a Football Club. I almost feel like I shouldn't be posting here but thought I had to pay respect after reading it. Things like this put things like freekicks into perspective.

To fight like that with such dignity is the mark of a hero.

Everything under the Sun is tuned,
But the Sun is eclipsed by the Moon...

THERE MUST BE LIGHTS BURNING BRIGHTER SOMEWHERE
GOT TO BE BIRDS FLYING HIGHER IN A SKY MORE BLUE
IF I CAN DREAM OF A BETTER LAND
WHERE ALL MY BROTHERS WALK IN HAND IN HAND
TELL ME WHY, OH WHY, OH WHY CAN'T MY DREAM COME TRUE
OH WHY

THERE MUST BE PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING SOMETIME
STRONG WINDS OF PROMISE THAT WILL BLOW AWAY
THE DOUBT AND FEAR
IF I CAN DREAM OF A WARMER SUN
WHERE HOPE KEEPS SHINING FOR EVERYONE
TELL ME WHY, OH WHY. OH WHY WON'T THAT SUN APPEAR

WE'RE LOST IN A CLOUD
WITH TOO MUCH RAIN
WE'RE TRAPPED IN A WORLD
THAT'S TROUBLED WITH PAIN
BUT AS LONG AS MAN
HAS THE STRENGTH TO DREAM
HE CAN REDEEM HIS SOUL AND FLY

DEEP IN MY HEART THERE'S A TREMBLIN QUESTION
STILL I AM SURE THAT THE ANSWER GONNA COME SOMEHOW
OUT THERE IN THE DARK, THERE'S A BECKONING CANDLE
AND WHILE I CAN THINK, WHILE I CAN TALK
WHILE I CAN STAND, WHILE I CAN WALK
WHILE I CAN DREAM, PLEASE LET MY DREAM
COME TRUE........RIGHT NOW

(THIS WAS ONE OF PHIL'S REQUESTED SONGS TO BE PLAYED AT HIS FUNERAL)
