Try reading German footie team names when you're drunk, you mistake them for alcohol, then go out searching for a bottle of Cologne.

I don't get why everyone is panicing for? We've had a poor pre-season so what? It's not the end of our season, yeah we got hammered, however remember friendlies mean nothing.

You have to admit it's so funny, I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry or both.

Why doesnt that surprise me, from a 'FAN' who once stated that when Liverpool lose it doesnt hurt, this obviously wouldnt be a problem.

5-0 ?

I keep expecting to wake up and this be a dream. To lose by 5 goals in any game is a disgrace, when the majority of the first team played...and with it so close to a vital champions league qualifier is even worse.
The team in general was decent apart from Traore at left back and Reina in goal, then not many things could of been different.
Just goes to show that the Grasshopper game should of been taken more seriously, and the Kaiserslauten one tbh. I'm not saying Rafa was f'cking about, just that the first team should of started both games and then come off after an hour or so.
With so many new signings the players need time to gel and get  to know each others game.
The only positive thing about a result like this, is that it will give the players a massive wake up call.
I said it last week but i cant see the point in giving the likes of Diao a game....and tbh Hobbs as well at this stage, the lad may have potential but we need a settled side.

But to be fair we did concede all the goals in the 2nd half when we made substitutions and 3 of the goals were scored when we had most of our reserve players on, i dont think it matters that much to have lost 5-0, yeah its not a positive thing but it is just a friendly. And it is a huge kick up the ar.se, just what we needed really after the 2 defeats before that

You really think we're out of the title race because we got beat in a friendly match 5-0? Well arent you the positive one!  :D

If we keep defending like we have done in preseason do you really think it won't effect the teams confidence  ???

Maybe I'm a bit harsh but 5-0 is a farse, remember we play a CL QUALIFIER and Chelsea next week  :;):

im sick to death of people saying "oh dont worry its only a pre-season freindly, there training sessions" :censored:, these games are about fitness, building confidence and team morale and bedding new players into the team.

these  games are not a shop window to sell traore and diao or give a runout to the youth team, you could forgive these players getting a game earlier on when the world cup players where absent but not now, the serious stuff starts next week.

Rafa m8 start kicking some arse

But the result doesnt mean anything and we havent put much effort into getting the right result, if we had really truly tried hard to win and lost 5-0 then it would really affect their confidence but we havent, its just a run out that means nothing, it will be completely different when we start the competitive games, im not saying it isnt a bad thing to lose 5-0 but its not as bad as some people are making out

I suppose it's a better excuse than any to get smashed, but I don't see why people are getting down hearted by the result? It's a training game, where the players get fitness and the new players get a chance to gel with the other team mates etc.

I'm sure the team will take the Champions League match on weds and the Charity Shield next week; seriously and the players will improve. If we are stuck in 7th place without Champions League football, then it's a cause for concern but to start c.rapping your pants over a friendly is rather stupid.  :D

I agree that an score like that hurts. But a team that it's rock solid one season doesn't convert in a joke in just one season, it's just a matter of preseason things.

It's what happens when you make many changes. Rafa and many Spanish coaches use the preseason to decide who are the youngster for instance that we'll keep in the first team and make proofs. It's true that hurts, it's true that wearing a Liverpool shirt is something that asks you to defend it's honour, but it is just the pre season.

Anyway you have the right to be angry, needless to say.

Seriously...we need  a stable back 4...we should be playing our best team at this stage of the pre-season games rafa should know by now what his first 11 should be....Mmmm but does he? Also worrying is the lack of goals We may need another striker urgently more than we realise?. ???
