Well, one thing is clear, we can not loose vs City. A loss there would make it an insurmountable task. Also the problem this year is that many clubs(opposite to lfc) have invested in their teams so it is not only City, but also Villa and Spurs that could nick it.

And the fixtures vs the other top 3 have not been kind to us with 3 losses out of 4. If you combine that with the fact that we can not dominate small teams away from home it looks a bit troublesome.

But all this is moot if City wins and potentially 9 points ahead...

Using the BBC Premier League predictor this is what my top 7 looked like:

1. Chelsea 92
2. United 82
3. Arsenal 80
4. Liverpool 73
5. City 68
6. Spurs 66
7. Villa 65

Man City, Spurs and Villa appear to trying their hardest to make sure we get the 4th spot so we need to grab the opportunity with both hands starting this weekend against City.

I have a lot of confidence in us reaching the top 4. We are battling like f*ck at the moment with a depleted team/squad that isn't playing well yet getting results and points, we have 3-4 BIG names players returning at various points over the coming weeks that will bolster the squad massively and we have experience of closing out 4th spot.

50-11 in favour of us finishing fourth, perhaps if the mods are happy to re-do the poll then one could do one as of now.......................................... (knowing redoing a thread can be contentious, perhaps this can be reset or a new poll created and comments in this thread linked somehow with the old results displayed in the options) if nothing else to see how fickle we are, and how much opinion has been dented by 18 points from 30 that should have been more like 24+ having played Wolves, Stoke and Wigan in that run and gained two points from a possible nine.

No we won't finish fourth. Nor do we deserve it. We are poison this season, starting with the donkey who picks the team. Absolutely no way should that pile of cack represent LFC in Europe next season....prob. not even in the Loser's Cup...

The owners are here to stay people need to just accept it, They won't move on. The CL funding might be the only money Rafa has to spend so we need to qualify badly.

Just can't see it now though.

He'd waste it. We're fukked with him here. SG isn't getting any younger and Torres is injury prone. The club is fukked.

I'm inclined to agree with that pessimistic prognosis meself Niall...
I think last night's fiasco was just another in the ridiculously log list of phuck-ups this season, and in seasons gone by....

Mascha at right back when we had a player returning to his rightful position on the bench. Whatever some might say about not risking GJ from the start, if he was knackered after 60 mins, THEN take him off...hopefully when we're a goal or two to the good, and we have to defend the 3 points...NOT fookin' vice versa....Rafa you muppet !!

Kuyt on the pitch for 82 mins...and for 81 of them he was pure shyte, unadulterated shyte. Pacheco not even on the bench. Hell, I'd even stick Babel in ahead of Kuyt right now and that's saying something....

Maxi - ehhhh, what exactly did we buy him for ? He can't skin a player, contributes next to feckall....he's only there as a token crowd-pleaser as far as I can see....

Benayoun - as shyte as Kuyt last night. Again, wtf was he on the pitch so long for ?

It goes on and on....game after game....

With Rafa and the rest of the muppet show we have no chance of 4th, be lucky to make 5th.

With Kenny in charge from now until May we would have a decent chance as far as Im concerned.

How anyone can defend Rafa now is beyond belief!

There was a time when I wouldn't have a bad word said against Rafa but how can any most loyal fan back him now? I know I can't

What i believe will give us a chance at least, even if I don't think we'll make it, is to drop Lucas, Kuyt and start playing Babel and Aquilani who have more skill in their pinky toes than those 2 previoulsy mentioned.

If Kenny just plays the same team as Rafa does it won't matter jack squat as it will be the same story.

Kenny or any half decent manager would never pick the same line up or tactics as Rafa.

When is the penny going to drop with these cowboys and the rest of the board?
Rafa hasn't got a fkn clue how to turn this around, leaving him in charge is nothing less than a dereliction of duty.
