Injuries robbed Jamie of a what could have been a great career. The guy was a class player and a class act. I'll remember him for some of the barnstorming long shots he hit when he first broke into the team during the Souness years. Also remember him going berserk after scoring with a late header to beat Newcastle 3-2 a few years back. Was the only time i ever saw the guy lose it.

If I remember correctly, he was one of the last players signed by Kenny Dalglish.

He was a very good passer, but i am not sure if he was the best one in a Liverpool shirt. Jan Molby was a very good passer also.

Anyway, good luck to him post retirement and thanks for the joy he brought to me as a Liverpool fan.

Thanks Jamie for giving me the best memory at Anfield. I will never forget him although he left us with injury. All the best and I still remember the game of him where we lose 2-3 to Mancs at home which the Brightest star for now - Jamie score twice into our net. He is a outstanding captain.
