That line baffled me. In a time when the team needs all the support it can get, a time when we have a threadbare squad that are stumbling to reach the end of the season with a smudging of credibility left under the control of Kenny and you come out with a line that says (in a nutshell)

"I ain't watching this team if our best players aren't playing?"

What ever happened to 'Through the wind and the rain?

Walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone...

...unless Gerrard, Reina and Carra aren't playing then ya on ya own.

you sir are a strange one  :Oo:

However I am still of the opinion he should be given the chance to prove himself in the next 2 to 3 seasons whether he can bring back the glory days if he still has the passion for the job and not only here temporarily to rescue Pool from the mess created by Roy, Rafa, H&G.

I don't care to watch our remaining games without our best players available and cannot wait for this season to be over and see how the rebuilding and buying star names as claimed by Commolli will work out in the summer.

I'm not convinced by Comolli at the moment. I presume he is working on a target list of players. His record at Spurs was patchy and I doubt he'll find another British Gareth Bale who can come in and perform to the level Bale is at now.

Marveaux tends to come inside a lot from the clips I've seen. We need to get away from players like players like Cole and Benayoun who keep coming inside. The 87-88 side didn't have wingers it had pass and move players who used the width of the pitch to open up the opposition.

If Kenny is the right man then good but I suspect that Comolli is being optimistic for the sake of it when he talks about top players joining this summer. The owners seem quite worried about the squad's lack of depth. If the club don't spend properly this summer on the right players to turn it around that could be it for years and years.

The whole Torres saga derailed our January, and we will never know what our plans were and what we could have done had we not had to contend with that.

Had he been happy and then stayed, could we have secured Adam, Benzema, Richards and others??  We'll never know now.

My point is that January therefore did not give us the indication we thought it might around the intentions of the new owners and their willingness to spend/invest.  Let's use the rest of the season to see which players deserve to stay, and then watch what happens in the summer.

I personally think we will see BIG changes over the summer, and we will bring in 4-5 players of a good quality.

i won't be surprised if the owners have already given Kenny a new contract and they are all merely playing mind games with the media. hence, what our owners really need to do is address the amount of deadwood within the squad. players such as Jovanovic, Aurelio, Poulson, Maxi, Jones El Zhar, Degen, Darby and Konchesky. some of them could be offered, along with cash, for our transfer targets as well.
