His physical strength is a big asset for us in the middle of the park, we are not getting bullied as much as we used to.
As Damjan says though we need a serious upgrade in MF for next season, hopefully we can land someone like Xhaka to pair up with Grujic and Can.

Yep I think Klopp likes a team full of strength. That's why he kept Can in the team even when his form dipped.

I admit i fail to see why you lads are so impressed with him. The physical ability is their no doubt but i still don't see the real value in his play ,he is either settling for side/backward passing or he starts this crazy runs which are impressive till he just loses the ball. What i expect anyone in his role is what Sakho often does is a forward pass that eliminates the opponent MF and allows our attacking players to turn and develop play ,he hardly goes for this...He and Hendo and Milner...Same mold.

He's reached a new level of maturity since moving into the DM role last month. Have to admit I doubted his ability to take on that role long term (thought he would be a box to box number 8) but he's been one of our best players since taking it on.

He had a dodgy start but increasingly imposed himself and virtually ran midfield on his own.
A potential superstar here...

Booking was a f**king joke too, Alli clearly shoved him first but of course John 'wrestling ref' Moss just happened to be turned the other way  :glare:

Think he was getting a bit frustrated at himself more than anything. Dembele was dominating in the middle and noticed Can was struggling to really get to grips with his power and strength.

Thing is Can hasn't got that natural athletism of someone Like Dembele so was always going to be difficult for him. Think most midfielders in the league would struggle to get the better of Dembele when he goes on those powerful runs and outmuscles opponents and gets past them.

Think Can is coming along nicely considering his age and think next season could be one where he pushes on. Don't think him and Hendo are the best of combinations though

I think Hendo and Can are too similar in alot of ways.. Both are big strong players but something is just missing from both. Someone like Nainggolan or Xhaka would add a different dimension to our midfield.

With Henderson out, we'll struggle in the semis without Can playing any 2 of the CMs we have.

I'd go with the diamond until the end of the season. Lucas, Allen, Milner (Stewart backup) with Coutinho, Sturridge, Origi ahead of them (Lallana, Firmino backup).

I'd also consider giving Lallana a go in the middle of the park in the league playing in front of a Lucas and alongside a Milner or Allen.

2 weeks to recover hope he makes it..he was able to play after his injury so I assume it shouldn't be too serious.
