Came back with a blast, one of our best players yesterday. Played with so much maturity, hard to think he's only 22, it was like he was 5 or 6 years older. Bright future ahead of him.
It is being reported in german media that Emre has a capsular injury in his right foot, I am not a doctor, but he will miss both their matches, not good for us
It was for several months towards the end of the last season in a period when he was one of our best players. He's defo a slow burner. Takes him time to get up to speed when coming into the team which is a real shame.
Unlike some of our players that have significantly improved since joining us I'm thinking Can has certainly failed to progress in any discipline and has actually gone backwards . Honestly think that if he doesn't soon step up Jurgen will give him the old heave ho !
They just cant find a position for him where he can perform consistently and he doesnt appear to have the mental strength to do a really tough disciplined job for the team.
I think Bayern saw his failings early doors and moved him on and you would expect this to be the last season hes got to impose himself at Anfield.
He's got all the tools to be a really good player. He's big, Strong, and hes got a decent engine. The negatives would be that he over runs the ball a lot.. he switches off alot when we slowly build up play from the back. And he's easily rattled when games get physical. If he could be as disciplined as Henderson he'd be a really big asset for our club.
He has had some good performances for us but at the moment there is no real consistency. I'd like to see more of a nasty side to his game. Tends to be on the fringes off games doing a decent, steady enough job but not really grabbing the midfield by it's neck and really dominating in there. Big strong lad, but the one area where maybe he loses out to other dominating midfielders in the league is athleticism.
Don't think he has played particularly badly but think he has more in the tank to offer. Also i'm not too sure we have fully found out what kind of midfielder he really is. Still only 22 though so need to give him more time to mature as a player
Kid's not even 23 yet. In my book, he's still a youngster with potential, and a good one at that. This time next year would be a more appropriate time to judge him.
How many players do we have where we're saying "they're only young... They'll come good...". He's 23, yes. Young, yes. No excuse for some of his performances this season. Simple cross field passes straight out of play. Not tracking back. Got to do better, in my opinion.
