EMILIANO INSUA - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Dundalk » Wed Nov 17, 2010 11:41 am

Liverpool could see Emiliano Insua make a shock return to the club after Galatasaray manager Gheorghe Hagi insisted he wanted no loan players in his squad.

Insua moved to the Istanbul club at the end of August on a season-long loan but is expected to return to England in January after Hagi outlined his plans for Gala since being appointed as Frank Rijkaard's successor last month - his second managerial stint with the club.

Following his return to the Aslantepe, the Romania legend has endured a difficult spell with a win over Denzilispor sandwiched between defeats against Trabzonspor and Manisaspor which has prompted a crisis meeting between the manager and the Cim bom's board of directors.

Reports in Turkey claim that attacking midfielder Zvjezdan Misimović heads the list of players set to be culled when the transfer window reopens after Hagi revealed that he was concerned with the attitude of several players.

Argentina international Insua, 21, is also expected to head for the exit after the left-back has made just nine appearances for the club this season whilst Hagi admitted that loan players had no place within his ranks.

He said: "Some football players at all is not normal behaviour.

"Teams do not want to loan players,"

Former Reds winger Harry Kewell is also expected to leave Galatasaray after Hagi conceded that the Australian's best days were behind him.

He added: "I respect his footballing past. But right now I need players whose footballing present is worth of respect."

even if you don't particularly rate him at least he's got time to develop. he's also classed as "homegrown" now if i'm not mistaken? we are also really short of options at left back so this can only be a good thing imo.

Oh no! The lad stinks. No pace, positionally terrible, no height and just a poor player regardless of his age.

More importantly would you swap him for Konchesky?

NO WAY.

tell me what fullback is ever at his peak at 21 years old? infact show me what 21 year old fullbacks are playing regularly for top sides over here?

listen the lad hasn't exactly been consistent but there's no way he's as bad as some on here are making out. at least he had a good impact on our attacking play. konchesky doesn't even do that let alone defend well. and lets face it, at 29 he aint going to improve.

I would personally prefer Aurelio over Insua but like people say he's young and could develop into a better player ...I would definitely say I would prefer either over Konchesky who is ridiculously bad ..how posters justify  the Solid but unspectacular tag they gave him against Stoke
is beyond me it really is ....

How has he done over there? It may have been a bad loan spell for the players progress if he failed to impress there, he could have been better off staying here even if he wasnt played :/

Looking forward to having him back. Hopefully once we get a new manager there will be a place for him. He's young and already an international. Can't see how Konchesky is an improvement over him.

have you watched him last season? I think Konchesky's signing was justifiable.

I hope Insua matures and improve, if he doesn't then we must sell ASAP.

People have VERY short or selective memories.

He was woeful last season.
Konchesky hasnt uprooted any trees but is for me without doubt a steadier and better player.
Sabre looks like a big lezzer
