Phil's long battle with cancer may have come to an end but he will live on in the hearts of those on this board. R.I.P. Phil, mate...you've been a true inspiration to us all.

RIP mate, such very very sad news karen.

i am actually at a loss for words, i knew he was ill but i never thought it would happen, i never thought he would pass away.

i hope emlyn, bill, bob and joe met him at the gates and are looking after him up there and talking football with him, and phil making them laugh.

Terrible Terrible news. A very sad day , I never met Phil but I know I've lost a friend . R.I.P Phil .

And so falls a legend. All of us who swapped a jibe and a joke with Phil were privilaged to do so, and have lost a friend. Thats me for now, footballs finished for a bit and I'm gonna spend my spare moments thinking about Phil and his family. If there is a God, I hope he looks after our mate.

Very sad news... our prayers and thoughts go to Karen and the kids.

With a tear in my eye,I can just see Drummerphil in that big cowboy hat,being welcomed into Heavens Anfield by managers,players and dear departed fans.
