He is gaining confidence with each game. He's shown quick feet and neat short passing skills in building up attacks.

One area that is a glaring weakness is his ability (or perhaps desire?) to challenge aerially for balls.

He doesn't like challenging for long goals kicks from Pepe ! Cannot remember even a single occasion when he cared to jump for a header :D

Definitely has goal awareness and that can only be a good thing.

he has potential for sure. he scores, he does what a striker should be doing and he has a pretty good goal/game ration too.

Incidentally, the commentator tonight insisted that his name is pronounced En-Gog, with a firm "g" on the end.  Says young David's Dad told him and all so no more Wash jokes Heimdall! :D

I always thought it was said that way because of how people say N'Zogbia.

But that means the egg nogg jokes are back in  :D

as far as those straws you were clutching for, I think you might have gotten a hold of a few of them, he had some nice lay offs for Stevie.  Still room to imrpove, but he does seem to, so that is promising.

He's scored more goals than Owen so far this season...

We should have signed him instead. The man with the funny, unknown name is useless, don't you know.

Actually have been impressed with ngog......he seems to know where the goal is (if you look at the other so called "strikers" we have apart from torres...it is a big deal... :p).

Have to give props for benitez for this (See i don't just attack benitez for every$hit). He is indeed a bargain for 1.5 million.

Hmm given the choice of a fit Owen or Eggnog I think I, and most sane people, would go for Owen but I still stand by the giving the youngsters a go, as that includes Eggnog. All I was saying and I stand by it is that he is not good enough to play in a 4-5-1, when nando is out we shoudl revert to 4-4-2 with Stevie and Mascha in the middle.

Anyway last night I saw a few glimmers from him but in fairness Devrecan were fecking useless in defense but maybe just maybe we have an ok'ish 3rd striker for the future. Must have really boosted his confidence being subbed by Rafa though, especially being replaced by that goal machine Kuyt.  :Oo:

he's growing on me, looks to be getting more game awareness every game he plays. Seems to be making the right runs and getting into the right spaces. He's scored more than that little manc pr!ck so far and he looks a better player than Keane did.

give him the rest of this season and I reckon he might be pushing for a regular first team place. Rafa then would get to play the 4-4-2 with n'gog and torres up front.

roll on.

5 in 11, only reservation is the quality of opposition

vs Leeds - league one)
vs Debrecen - conceded 13 goals in three against the rest of our group
vs brum - newly promoted
vs mancs - 1on1 with the keeper late on
vs Stoke - stuffed them 4-0 and his was the last

Not knocking him, at least he is scoring, but putting the goals into perspective it's hardly la creme de la creme.
