Reds agree Poulsen exit

Dane granted permission to talk to Ligue 1 new-boys Evian

Last Updated: August 30, 2011 9:01pm

Liverpool have confirmed they have agreed a deal with Evian for the transfer of Christian Poulsen.

The Denmark international has proved a major disappointment at Anfield since arriving last August and has long been expected to leave.

As revealed earlier on Tuesday by skysports.com, Poulsen has now been given permission to hold discussions with Ligue 1 new-boys Evian ahead of the completion of his move.

A statement on the Premier League club's official website on Tuesday read: "Liverpool FC have tonight confirmed that they have reached agreement with Evian Thonon Gaillard for the transfer of Christian Poulsen.

Improve

"The French side have now been given permission to talk to the Denmark international."

Poulsen was a signing of former Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson, but successor Kenny Dalglish this summer took steps to improve his midfield.

Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson were signed in Poulsen's preferred position of central midfield and the 31-year-old has not played for Liverpool this season.

The former Juventus man made his most recent appearance for the Reds in the 1-0 defeat to Braga in the Europa League last season.

Evian have collected five points from their opening four games, and have already this summer signed the likes of Cedric Mongongou and Sidney Govou.

+++ They also say Joe Cole is talking to Villa?

Yes, all jokes aside, best of luck. A very experienced danish international who played for Juve. Can't have been that bad. Just never got with it for us.

Now, back to the jokes...

Ngog is gone too !!! No jokes this is really happening!

"Sky Sports sources understand Bolton have had a bid accepted for Liverpool striker David Ngog.

The Trotters have long been linked with a move for the 22-year-old Frenchman and are looking to push through a deal before the passing of Wednesday's transfer deadline..."

I'm not defending the dross we signed, just highlighting that things have changed a lot over the last few months and it's a tad unfair to think that Hodgers 1st choice signings would have included Poulson, Konchesky or Cole

25 million - thats how much Woy spent

Fair play to the bloke. He apparently forfeited a 1.5m bonus as part of his signing on fee to push the deal through.

Best of Luck Poulsen, good attitude and commitment, but lacking the required ability and was at the wrong end of his career!!

Another flop off the wages, great window so far for us!!

My milkmans faster than Torres...according to the wife.

Actually, does that joke work better if I say "faster than John Terry"?
